Hello everyone.

I currently have rxtools set up on my OLD 3DS XL, but I decided to make the switch over to arm9loaderhax using Plailect guide (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki).

Since the guide states to start from the very beginning even if you have an existing EmuNAND set up, I did so.

I started following the steps to get Decrypt9 ready (part 1). I created a folder named "files9" (didn't have one before), copied the Launcher.dat and the Decrypt9WIP.dat from the Decrypt9WIP.zip to the root of my SD card and booted up the system. When I tried to launch the application from one of these URLs:
nothing happened. I got the "Launching Gateway" or "Launching Decrypt9" message, but that's it. I had Decrypt9 available to be launched from the Homebrew Launcher before, so I tried doing it from there. Now it just gives me a black screen and sends me back to HBL. I even downloaded an unofficial .cia version of Decrypt9 and tried that, but I just get sent back to the home menu after launching it.

I am pretty sure I could have followed the Decrypt9 steps without even coping those files or creating any folder (at that point) and just launching it from HBL when it was working, but now I have no idea how to do so. I just wanted to make sure I was doing everything right by following the guide to a tee.

So if anyone has any idea what when wrong and how I can get Decrypt9 working that would be really appreciated. I didn't want to post this for such a simple thing, but I can't figure it out.

Also, I write walls of text to make sure that I give the most detailed information that I can.

Thank you.

Yes, I have tried clearing it multiple times. I think there is some issue with the files themselves, but don't know what.

Well, you can run decrypt9 a few ways, using the .3dsx in your 3ds folder, you simply launch the homebrew launcher and run it, or use a DS cart that works on your current version and launch the .nds file

Or try redownload the latest version of decrypt9 and try replace the launcher.dat and decrypt9WIP.bin onto the root of your SD

I personally, never been able to launch Decrypt9 on my O3DS XL with Firmware 4.5 Gateway Patched. I had to format to remove the Gateway Patch in order to launch the Decrypt9 application.

As I've stated, I did try to launch it using the 3dx version from the HBL, but it didn't work. I did try and re-download the latest version of Decrypt9 (the 3dx version) and replacing it, but that didn't change anything.

Have you tried renaming decrypt9wip.dat to launcher.dat?
Won't that screw up the already existing "launcher.dat" file?

Just put that somewhere else, then put the decrypt9 launcher.dat.

Honestly I've always had problems running decrypt9 on any version <9.2 so I keep a ds flash cart handy and that never seems to fail, from what you've tried, I don't think much else could be said, if you've tried replacing the files, clearing all saved browser data and retrying. The only method left is the .nds decrypt9.

I backed up my saves using JKSM save manager and everything else I could think of (themes, homebrews etc.) and just re-formatted my SD card and started from scratch. If you are planning on installing A9LH yourself then consider this option if nothing else seems to work.

Since there are no important things on my SD card do you think i should just start from the beginning?

Have you tried using an older version of decrypt9? The current builds don't like non-a9lh entrypoints too well. Actually, I'm 99% sure that it's just hb that is broken rn...

Something from before May, the April one should work fine if you want to use the 3dsx (do not use this for a9lh setup). If you are going through a9lh, just keep trying the links for launcher.dat and clearing the browser cache each time.

So I can't install a9lh with using the 3dsx? Only via Browser?
There is no launcher.dat in the April Version :/

Here's a Pic of what i get when i want to enter via Browser
Decrypt9 via Browser.jpg
