I wanted to know if it was possible to port TCP Gecko to Wii and vWii. Mabye replace the serial port (GCN Memcard) dependencies with TCP/IP communications.
Gecko OS for cheating
USB Loader GX for dumping (install a game, convert it to a .iso file and extract it with a tool)

USB gecko and TCP Gecko are hardware extensions that can't be replaced by Gecko OS or any USB loader. And all modern USB loaders allow to load cheats too.

vWii uses IOS58 so USB Loader GX doesn't support disc games.
Did I even help you? Wait sorry you didn't need the help

I suppose he wants to peek/poke the memory in real time, dump it, search code etc. without an USB Gecko (which are now hard to find, or can't be used on Wiiu).
using cheats don't require the device, only the loaders and homebrew.

There is a wifi gecko, for homebrew debugging purpose, but it require network initialization, so you can't debug early boot codes (before net init).

but there's no network debug tools while in game (TCP gecko). I don't know if it can be done by rewriting the code handler.

I suggest buying a Shuriken USB for Wii and IIRC there was a way to connect it to WiiU...

Yeah. I would think it could be done. It might require rewriting codehandler.bin, but even if it's larger, idk if it will affect much.

I wanted to know if it would be done because I do not have a USB Gecko and would like to attempt to debug PPC code on my Wii U over vWii. Not to mention, it would help anyone who doesn't have a USB Gecko make cheat codes and play around with ASM.

no, it's not created for Wii/vWii.
like I said above there is a TCP connection, named "wifi gecko", but it's active while inside a homebrew, and used to send logs to the PC. it doesn't patch the game to access the memory in real time.

For gamecube games, I think you can use Dolphin to search codes.

Will Dolphin still work with the vWii Nintendont and its "shifted addresses" issue?
Is there anyway to find how to make codes that compensate for the Shift?
