I'm not a Vita person, so excuse me if I'm horribly wrong, but... IIRC henkeku was userland, or at least not full access. We're able to decrypt games now, too, leading to piracy. That'd be like running 3DS ROMs from a .3dsx.

We already have homebrew and possible piracy on the second to newest firmware (3.61 patched it, right?)

If we can decrypt Vita ROMs with the tightest security ever and run them through userland henkaku, then why hasn't warez on 3DS userland been a thing? With things like HANS being able to patch code and romfs, it should be able to work (can we not replace exheader or something?) but apparently that's out of the question.

HENkaku have kernal access

Is there anymore information for end users to know to prepare for this? Like do you need a specific model or firmware?

I'm asking for a friend whom is obsessed with Sony.

Um, mate, the tightest part of Vita's security was getting here. How many years did it take? Almost five. How many years did it take for the 3DS piracy to appear? Two bloody years. So I'm pretty sure Vita was a harder nut to crack than 3DS. Hell, there's still a lot of things not being available

@CeeDee You are totally wrong here, HENkaku has had kernel access since day one, just like the original Ninjhax did but same as Smea, Yifan simply decided not to share the source code and not tell people that there is kernel access... Not that is a bad thing tho.

The 3DS took 2 years to be hacked, the Vita took 4 years... Tell me which one has rhe better security again...

You know, if is possible, now you know what is gonna happen? HUGE PRICE RAISE in the systems and as if the memory cards isn't already over charged prices enough. But good thing i already have a vita and vita tv since day one. So i'm okay. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ELSE WHO DON'T! Now i will need a ps4 to play Phantasy star online 2 cause we know is not gonna be on vita in usa, with the potential piracy. :glare:
Already orderd my 2nd 64GB card for 80 euro.

Meh I'm still going to buy my gaems and support the devs.
Eh. Not supporting much at this point. Seems like 90% of anything involving the vita is used. Not to mention there's next to nothing new coming out anymore. Not trying to excuse piracy, but it's a lost cause.

tbh I would rather pay for a vita flash cart, use it with a microsd and ease of moving files onto it and such

You'd have to buy extra hardware then, and those won't come cheap. And they may have drawbacks. Look at how sky3ds is doing on the 3ds scene. It's only a temporary solution.
Maybe you're looking for cobrafin

I can finally pirate as much FFFF as I can all those full of underaged-loli-pantsu-ecchifanservice anime PSDEADgames which are never ever exported outside of their birthland. YEAH CHAMPAGNEEEEEE!

The wrost is when they get exported and have only shit eng dub like P4G and some others, I also wish undub could get easier like some games for ps3/360 were at DIY level

Project Diva X next week
LoH Cold Steel II in November
There;s Root Letter and more japanese games which I'm fond of.

Vita userbase is small but it's enough to support these games coming out and I want to support games I like.

If I recall correctly, a study of piracy on the affect of the console market deemed it nonlethal to the overall lifespan of a console.

Take the Wii for example. Every person's wife's first son and his dog had a hacked Wii. Did that stifle overall sales? No. The people who are aware of these sorts of methods are the ones actively seeking them out, and I can tell you with certainty that only an iota of the Vita's userbase is doing this. Piracy will only be seen as "rampant" because of the very non-vocal majority of vita owners who buy games.
