So, my counsin's A9LH N3DS that I recently hacked following Pailect's Guide to a T, has deleted all of his CIAs after he accessed the eShop... Does this mean his NANDs are linked?

If so, what is the process to check if they are linked and how do we go about unlinking them? The few searches I have found mention Gateway or booting into sysnand to check, and I don't know how to boot between the emunand and sysnand on A9LH.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you followed Plailect's guide, he should no longer have an emuNAND so his NANDs could not be linked. Unless he set up a useless emuNAND.

Following it exactly as it is, for 3 systems so far, and his is the only one that just went all rogue and deleted all of the CIAs from the home screen.

The error he got before it deleted everything was 009-7120, Any suggestions?

Plailects guide gives the OPTION of removing EmuNAND...

Redownload them...? Or see if there's a backup you can restore. Going to the eShop SHOULD NOT delete all of your CIAs. I've got plenty of CIAs installed and going to the eShop does not delete them.

Not the most recent update to his guide. You go from Step V to Step VI while in EmuNAND9. If he followed it like it is, he no longer has an emuNAND.

We reformated to "no emunand", as per the guide, copied everything back over, and at the end we deleted all but the 7 items it tells you to keep.

After that, I went through and installed all the CIAs, some games, etc etc, created a NNID for him, and then shipped it off to him.

He opens it, plays a few games, goes to play another, I tell him to update it through eshop, as me and my neighbor have, and he gets error 009-7120, and everything is deleted...

So yeah, I know it's not suppose to delete anything, but it did, wish I knew why..

Not sure SAK, there is the NNID options of course, which we used to create an NNID for him. But other than that, what should we look for?

I'm scrambling right now because he is about 10 states away and of all the people it had to happen to, it had to be him and not my neighbor that I could just grab and try to fix myself -_-

I dunno, i never had problems with nintendo network id. Or missing cia. Check the system settings data manager for any thing. Sometimes the stuff goes missing until i find in data management a unknown app with a questionmark and says 0 Blocks, when i delete it, usually it fixes the missing apps problem.

Interesting, we already did a system restore so everything was wiped anyway but I am going to have him restore to the a9lhax NAND as soon as I send it to him.

Is there anything else I should look out for? I am going to try to have him just access the eshop after the restore and if it deletes his FBI/Luma updater cia then we have an issue still

Were the tickets delete too? Or just the apps from the home menu? Has he checked space on SDcard after and before this problem?

I had him back up the SD card after it happened and it transfered 13 gb of data which means to me it had all the games.. so now that you mention it, maybe it did just delete the tickets... do fbi and those types of CIA have tickets as well? And if it did just delete the tickets, what's the best way to restore them?

I'll give that a shot, thanks!

If we restore his nand to before any games were installed, but copy the games back over to his SD, will installing just the ticket cause it them to pop up again?
You can also use tikShop which will install all available tickets at once, without having to search for each game individually.

Yeah I could have him use tikshop and tiklean which should add all tickets then wipe all unused ones at least.. I'll try as soon as he gets home and report back.

Okay, so here's our progress today.

I had him restore his system to his A9LH SysNAND backup with Hourglass9, everything went swimmingly, he's back to his stock setup with FBI injected to H&S.

Upon attempting to reinstall the FBI, Luma Updater, and HBLauncher CIAs via QR code, he is met with the following two errors, the first was something about HTTP unreachable, and the second was FAT Operation Denied.

Thinking this was an issue with his network or QR codes, I had him download the CIAs on his computer, copy them to his SD card, and try to install them that way.

The first one he tried was FBI cia, which gave this error: Already Exists.

I'm thinking okay, maybe it's because FBI is actually already installed but the ticket is missing, lets try to use FBI's ticket installer and install the FBI ticket. He is then met with this error:

So I said, alright, let's try to install the TikShop CIA and see if we can just brute force all the tickets back into the system. Upon trying to installed the Tikshop CIA from his SD card, he is once again met with the Fat Operation Denied Error:

So, I had him go into his system settings and data management, it's showing all his games with grey x's and Tikshop, Luma Updater, and HBLauncher all "installed" However, his home screen does not contain any of these items and he is getting those FAT Operation Denied errors for everything he tries to install.

I am currently extremely confused and I do not know what to do next.

Can anyone make any suggestions? As far as his SD card goes, it's a 64GB Sandisk that originally came with his phone. He formatted it using the typical GuiFormat tool everyone recommends with the 32k allocation size.

Thanks for the help guys

Well this is an interesting problem.... I have no idea why cia files would disappear after accessing the eShop, but as for the FAT error, have you tried reformatting the sd card again since the issue?

Yeah, it's been quite an interesting battle so far lol. I am thinking it was something to do with his first time accessing the eshop, it did a ticket sweep, and just uninstalled all the tickets but not the actual installations.

I'm going to have him reformat and also swap back to the 32GB Samsung Evo SD I shipped to him and try that as well. I'll let you know if it changes anything.

If anyone else comes up with something, please chime in
