A9lh Is the nickname given to ARM9 Which is the main componet necessary to achieve total control over the system to allow any user modification to be done. That is considered the main security of the system that prevents use of installing custom unauthroized cia and other stuff that nintendo doesn't want people to have cause it would allow anyone to do whatever they can within system limitations. I think
a9lh is the nickname given to arm9loaderhax, which abuses a weakpoint in the arm9 function of the 3ds system

you know mine no matter what i did never booted up on power on.
When you use the menuhax homebrew to insall menuhax you can configure how to boot menuhax using the config option on, You can tell it to boot with a specific button if desired. Perhaps that what you may have forgotten.

i did. even cleared it out and reinstalled and still never would boot and no theme either. guess its a timing thing?
oh u meant right now, they changed it as its more complex now

Did I just screw myself? I'm on step 5 of the guide to install arm9loader and i have everything except emunand_original.bin and it says I need it. I'm already on 2.1 is it too late to get it?

I thought the first parts of part 4 were recaps I do have a emunand_formatted.bin would that work?

Yes, that will work to get you out of 2.1. You will just lose any saves or games you had installed.

Thanks, so all game saves are internal? I thought they were on the game cartridge lol.

Ok i'm nearly done but ran into another problem.

I just was able to get into luma3ds with select and choose all the settings but now since I rebooted none of the buttons I hold down work and the console just turns on the blue light for a second then off.

This is the part I just completed

Section III - Configuring Luma3DS
  1. Hold select on boot to enter the Luma3DS menu.
  2. Use the A button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • "Autoboot SysNAND"
    • "SysNAND is updated"
    • "Force A9LH detection"
    • "Show current NAND in System Settings"
    • "Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_FIRM"
  3. If you are using a New 3DS, you should also enable the following:
    • Toggle "New 3DS CPU" to "Clock+L2(x)" for improved game performance
  4. Press Start to save and reboot
  5. Following this, booting to a black screen is normal (Luma3DS cannot boot a 2.1.0 NAND).
Then it says

Section IV - Copying RedNAND data to SysNAND
  1. Open Hourglass9 from arm9loaderhax by holding Start on boot
Doesn't work.

Either your SD card is faulty or you don't have arm9loaderhax.bin on it. Try redownloading Luma 5.5 and pasting the arm9loaderhax.bin on the SD card, if that doesn't work try the same with Luma 5.2, if still no go try a new SD card.

Games like animal crossing and Pokemon are (called card 2 I think), but not other games (card 1 I think)

I wouldn't take blame if it were either of those but i'm sitting in the dark here at 3:43 am where I am and I didnt realize my sd card wasnt in there lol, that was really dumb. Oh well I really appreciate yours and everyone elses help. Special shutout to Kunochiz shes been helping me through pm for days. I'm doing the emunand_formatted.bin right now.

@Quantumcat Quick question, I have this DS flash cart and running Luma3DS on 11.0.0.33, but it does not work, do I need to install something first?

EDIT: And the 3DS refuses to boot when the DS card is inside
Search GBATemp for bluecardfix.cia, if installing that doesn't work, also search for ApacheThunder TWL launcher. One of those two should make your DS card work. Don't know anything about the card stopping your console booting sorry!
