After installing a hardmod I couldn't read the nand, i 've tried several things, like direct soldering the hardmod to the adapter.
But nothing had work. After several tries i've decided to change the franken-SD and the cables, so i've removed the hardmod and changed to another. After re-assembling all i've tried to boot the console (unpluged SD) and booted into the blue screen.
So, I removed completly the hardmod and it stils booting into bootrom screen with the following errcodes:

The first 8-bit block changes randomly in this codes: FFFFFFFF, DFCFFFFF, CFCFFFFF.

And the rest of the code stays as:
Code:
         FFFFFFFF
00000022 00000000

Someone knows what I did wrong? And if is there a fix.

As with any issue like this we will need to see how the 3DS look currently, I could only see a picture with the wires still soldered in that thread, takes some new hi res pics of the contact areas so we can see if there is any viasble damage/issues

Can i hijack this thread?
I hardmodded my 3ds XL, after having major issues with my father's soldering iron (accidentally removed DAT0 gold pad thing), and went out and bought a new one (much nicer, NAND dump worked, i believe, successfully 4 times).
When I opened my 3DS again to remove the wires, the DAT0 wire came loose, along with the remaining circuit wire from it, to under the NAND chip.
Am I royally effed, or is there hope yet?

Dat0 has an alternative point which is very small. There is a photo around.

Will I be able to reconnect that to the little chip above the circle?
I keep getting the "00f800fe 00000000 00000000 00000200" Error code, which is apparently the SD card error (according to homebrew) whenever I boot up, which is almost instant. I'm not an amazing solder, but I don't think it's a cross connection, and the only thing I can think of is it's because of the broken DAT0 trace

Pictures are always essential for these things

Sorry, it's like 2am here in Aus. My brain is as useful as my 3DS right now

So I bought some liquid silver to bridge the broken connection, but i'm still stuck with the same error as before.
I don't see any shorts or bridging between CLK or CMD and DAT0, so i'm at a standstill.
Any ideas?

As your profile is locked I figured I might as well write this here:
Don't forget to write an Introduction!
Sorry for the off topic people :glare:

Llisten, I tell this to everyone.

If you already screwed up one point on the board, do not attempt further soldering. Take it to someone else.

Yeah, fair enough. But i'm pretty impatient.
So, long story short. I have a NAND backup, but a bricked 3DS.
I've replaced the trace and circle pad for DAT0 with silver, and i'm still getting the same "00F800FE 0*8 0*8 00000200" error.
Is there something else i've missed? My SD card adapter read/wrote fine, but I used a program (off the guide) to rewrite my NAND to allow a downgrade. Is it possible I had a bad flash with no errors?
Something about eMMC blocking? I'd just like guidance on what I messed up (other than the obvious).

I also don't suppose anyone knows a Hardmodder in Australia?

The tiny CLK point that a few people try using is VERY sensitive. Its VERY small for a novice solder(er). If any part of the CLK point is bridged with another of the 4 pads, or if the CLK point is lifted, you're boned.

If you messed up the DAT0 pad, there are very good chances of the CLK point being messed up as well. I am nowhere near a novice, and even I messed up a CLK point once. You basically need to ensure that every point on the board is making 100% contact and that you are using a good SD reader.

Furthermore, it is very possible that while reading the NAND before in your previous attempt, that the read or a write process was interrupted and that would cause the NAND to basically "lock up". I used a counterfeit reader on a NORMAL SD card, and the SD card bricked. It's very likely that your NAND is irreversibly bricked as well.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
