The Bible explicitly condones slavery.Atrocities from the Crusades to US slavery have been justified by out of context verses. When you don't bother to (or don't want to) learn the context, you can have a grave misinterpretation.

That's what I'm talking about when I said context is essential. Slavery in that culture was something very different. It was a way to pay off debt. If you don't understand the history and culture, you end up with a completely different idea. In addition, most of the Bible is just things that happened, and laws that existed. It is history in itself, not instructions for what to do.The Bible explicitly condones slavery.
Look, I am an atheist too, but I don't think it would be good to start a fight over religion here, right? Let him/her have the freedom of choice. The Bible explicitly condones slavery.
hell noDo you respect and tolerate people part of the LGBT community?
I don't know how to say this, but...don't you think you're a bit young to make such a huge decision? I mean, have you ever truly been attracted to someone, or was it one of those "eh, he/she is alright" kind of things? I'm not trying to say it's wrong or anything, just that you're the youngest person I've ever heard say that!sigh
I'm bisexual. I uh, think the whole LGBT thing is extremely annoying-my sexual orientation does not automatically make me part of some community or whatever
that, and I'm 11 years old. I could care a bit less whether they have a pride day or not, but I essentially don't care. I don't identify with LGBT or whatever, and I probably never will.
That, and being proud of your sexual orientation is next to pointless.
then again i am also a person who honestly thinks you're 11 you haven't even hit puberty yet how the hell does one figure out their sexuality before they even hit puberty, i don't believe in itsigh

Hate to be that guy, but aren't you a little young to be deciding your sexuality? A lot of people aren't even sexually attracted to anyone at that age.sigh

Regardless of how people got themselves into slavery, for how long, or whom the rules applied to, the Bible is explicitly condoning the ownership of people, which is immoral under any circumstance. Either way, slavery in that culture absolutely was not something very different. The Bible also condones obeying one's master, beating slaves to within an inch of their lives, and gives a set of instructions for how to trick a slave into becoming one's permanent property in order to stay with his family. That's what I'm talking about when I said context is essential. My point is that many prominent characters in media are gay, and no one raises complaints about it. Your statement was that LGBT can't get into media without people raising a huge stink about it. What about Ellen Degeneres? The Simpsons have also had gay characters. So long as the fact of "gay gay gay accept the gays!!!" Isn't shoved down people's throats, they're not going to object to it. And if they do, it's a tiny minority of older people stuck in their mindsets.Um.... Your point?

They could quit whenever they wanted. It was similar to an indentured servant. That's pretty different from permanent property as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure where you got your information, but it certainly wasn't from careful study. Sounds more like you just read an article online and decided you knew what you were talking about. I'm done discussing it though.Regardless of how people got themselves into slavery, for how long, or whom the rules applied to, the Bible is explicitly condoning the ownership of people, which is immoral under any circumstance. You know what's really not normal? The treatment I've gotten for being transgender. I've been stalked, harassed, nearly assaulted, I've had people lie about me in an attempt to get me fired from my job, I've gotten death threats, and so much more. I've done nothing wrong to anyone, yet so many people treat me like a threat. It's not me who is abnormal, it's how people treat me that is. I am just a normal girl living my normal life, yet somehow that upsets people.Don't get me started on transgender. I'm sorry, but it isn't normal in any sense of the word. You can do anything you want with your body. Do dangerous surgeries (I perfer you don't) to change yourself or don't, and still try to claim you are the other gender, but I can't 100% agree with them.
Unless you are on Tumblr, most of the LGBT+ doesn't do any of this. But people say we do.We don't need parades
We don't need your sexuality rubbed in our faces
We especially don't need your non-biological gender rubber in
What we do need is for you to grow up and realize
about 80% of us don't give a single fuck about where you stick your genitals and the minority that do, who gives a fuck about them as there's always gonna be opposition towards anything ever
