Homebrew FatesHax, would it be possible?

As this thread went to shitstorm, I had to lock it up due to the nonsense that clogged it up.

I found a new issue in Fates. My friend has an o3ds and when trying to access any of his inventories in FE:Fates, he gets the black screen of death. What is suspicious is that it black screens and not kick back to home menu presenting an error and rebooting on there.
Does anyone have an idea?
His system isn't modded and I think it is on the latest sys version. I think if we pulled off a buffer overflow like oot3dhax and have it attempt to run a rop payload, we could have another entry point.
This is, after all, pure speculation. I wouldn't get my hopes up on anything.

Game frozen =/= Buffer Overflow exploit to run ROP.

It has been a while since I have gotten dirty with code... We would need someone with more credibility to check this out. That is the one issue, and that is credibility.

No look, I did read your post. And I admire your enthusiasm, but posting this without at least providing the save file for someone more technically minded to look at isn't really going to lead anywhere.

Your post isn't useful, that's why you're getting waves of people looking at you like:

"I think this game that froze might lead to an exploit, I'm a hacker I know what I'm talking about."

Did you expect everyone to just nod and go "mhmm, you're a hacker so you must know what you're talking about!" ?

Cool. Tell me when you have it running ROP. Good luck, honestly. If you actually end up with something to show for yourself, I'd be glad to admit I was wrong.

I do not have access to this system, as I stated in OP, it is a friend (not even one I know in real life), but all he cares about is that all his paths are gone now.
And lets ignore the shitstorm and hope this thread gets somewhere.

I'm sure someone on here can give me a start. I'm too rusty on my programming so I will need assistance, but like I said. If I got someone more credible behind me and helping me explore this issue, we might/might not get anything out of this.

I do agree, but it is worth investigating. Nothing is hack-proof. That is what I learned in my cyber security crap I do at my school.

You came onto GBATemp and told us about it.
You said it could be a buffer overflow.
You said it could be used to run ROP and homebrew.
You have no save file for reference.
You have no access to the 3DS it happened on.
You have nothing to show for it other than "I am a hacker myself, after all."

I'd like you to point out one time where an accidental game freeze on someone else's console, that you have no access to, no idea what caused the issue, no idea how it happened, and no idea if it's exploitable or not created an entrypoint.

If someone made a thread every time someone's game froze, the forum would be "GuysIThinkIMightMaybeHaveAnExploitTemp."
