Hacking Installing CFW on N3DS XL 9.2

I never got around to installing CFW on this N3DS for a while. However, I did downgrade to 9.2.

What is the easiest to use CFW to install on it, and how would I go about doing it?

Are you planning on installing A9LH + Luma3DS CFW?
It's worth the time and effort, in my opinion.

Luma3DS, and use https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

If you know a little bit about what you're doing, you can set up Luma3DS with menuhax, which takes less time (assuming you know what to do and/or you can find the info quickly). But you end up with an inferior set up. Best just to follow Plailect's guide from beginning to end.

I'm having an issue with backing up the NAND, and I did try installing Rei and Cakes on it. Should I format the SD using the NAND program before I go further?

1. Go to EmuNAND Manager Options, then backup SysNAND to sysNAND.bin
2. Press Select on the main menu to eject your SD card
   
   There is no option to backup SysNAND to sysNAND.bin

Is this Decrypt9? You can change the name using the d-pad. Or if it says press Up, Down, A etc that's making sure you don't do anything by accident.

It depends on where your data is stored right now.
Choose Backup sysNAND to file.

If I formatted my SD, would I be at any disadvantage?

Also, the SD is 4GB, but my PC says there's only 2GB on it. I think it may have come from a failed backup attempt in the past.

I have no idea where you are in the A9LH guide, and where your "important" NAND is; sysNAND or emuNAND. Until you answer those, I won't be able to help you.

If there's nothing on the SD that you care about (including emuNAND), copy the SD card's files (all of them) to a safe folder on your computer, and then format it with Disk Management (remove the emuNAND Unallocated Sector and Current FAT/FAT32 Partition, and then create a FAT partition, and COPY (not CUT!) your 3DS files back into your SD. After that, format the SD card on the 3DS for emuNAND use when asked to do so, and put the files back right after formatting (the guide details these steps).

"backup SysNAND to sysNAND.bin" would be "Dump SysNAND to NAND.bin" in this case.

And I'm not sure where my NAND is, but my SD card is titled EMUNAND9SD

And I'll backup and then format and restart.
