i cant seem to get my sky3ds+ to exceed 9 games it changes the .3ds file to .3ds.bad every time and im using 3 sd cards with 128gb (samsung evo, Sandisk Ultra, & A Sandisk Extreme) i have like 40 games all US Region and i delete the setting.txt file every time nothing works even tried a 32gb and 64gb its a generic sd cards only hold 9 games as well. i updates the sky3ds+ card to the newest firmware 112 and im formatting the sd cards to fat32 64kb the program im using to format the sd cards is EaseUS Partition Master. i even try a different set of roms as well none are eshop games.

Anybody got any ideas???

Can you make a picture of the Sky3DS card and post it here? Sounds like somehow you got the original Sky3DS (Red) which had a limit of 10 games..

have you tested your sd cards with H2testw?

I had the some problem for a while, and eventually I started to suspect of the microSD and there it was: the microSD was a fake one.

This basically proves they're fake, class 10 cards would take 1 hour maybe 2 max

Ummm I don't think you should put the site in your post. Just test the 64gb card.

you are right mine definately took less than 2 hrs to check

Maybe if he gets some ''legit'' cards he will then have my issue where it won't even read the card at all

Also i may be wrong but i recall those sandisk extreme cards having to be all a solid red and gold color on the front yours has black on the edge i am almost positive the legit ones don't have this

i have long nails and i have a cheap SD card reader that's really hard to remove the sd card so i ended up scratching the paint off. another thing i dont understand how all 3 of my sd cards can be fake they all came retailed packages and i brought all of them off different sellers on ebay and all 3 cards do the exact same thing holds up to 7-9 games then the rest turns into 3ds.bad files. i read article; watch YouTube videos, read the information on the sky3ds site, i know how to follow instructions im pretty sure its the roms i just downloaded 11 roms from a different site and i'm going to test them out if this doesn't work your right maybe i brought 3 fake sd cards and ill just have to buy new ones but off amazon or wal-mart

One thing that helps me when my mSDs lock up on me or turn into super floppy is to do a full format back to default. I have a 128gb and it took me all day to do a full format. And that's on a cruddy netbook. Patience. I'm betting you don't have fakes. Formatting is a pain in the butt and is %90 of the problems.

First off, does windows even recognize the mSD cards? If so, open up partition master and see if the mbr has super floppy next to it. If so, one of the things I would have to do to on the blue button with diskwriter is first format it in diskwriter, then default format it in windows. Depending on the default (which is normally exFAT on large cards) I would first NTFS then use partition master to FAT32 it. It is important to do this because any FAT partition can easily become corrupted. So to clean the mbr properly you have to switch actual mbr formats.

I highly recommend using easeUS Partition Master to then FAT32 any mSD 64gb or above.

If windows doesn't recognize the mSD but does recognize the card reader, use a different card reader. Windows and card readers don't get along too well.

EaseUS must be Primary FAT32 and will default 32kb it. But to double check, run it under that other formatter I linked to and double check. You don't need to even format it. Just make sure the allocation size is right.

An occasional full (not quick) format can really help but takes a while. Also try not to move any files larger than 2gb on to the mSD.

I think the transfer limit is 2gb. I might be wrong. FAT32 has a file size limit for transfers. This might be what's making your roms go .bad on Sky3DS+. Hence the rom splitter tool from Gateway. Split 'em, transfer 'em, re-assemble them. Although, I think the limit might be 4gb, don't remember.

Yeah, it's 2gb. Just checked. Maybe try to trim the roms. This means get rid of the game manuals if you can. Try to make them 2gb or less. I know there's a great Sky3DS tool out there that trims better than any other program. Forget the name... where's fox? He should know. He wrote it. I loved it.

Sky Army Knife. It has a trimmer unlike any other. But some games are just too big. This means Gateway splitter.

Hope this helps.

32GB mSD/SD cards should always work fine since they normally FAT32 naturally. It's the 64-128GB SDs that you have to force a FAT32 format. And that's when they start getting weird...
