You should be able to interrupt the animation by pressing start or select.
Oh, I know that, but that would still get annoying. Pressing select//start, then holding R (got autoboot on) and then navigating to the chainload screen.

To me, it's much faster, hold my key-press at boot time for CtrBootManager9, then select my necessary payload.

I also have my CtrBootManager9 with cute Sinon background images. ^_^

Though Corbenik might get it too. Maybe.

Backgrounds...maybe. Not on my priorities at the moment, but maybe.

But for me, the chainloader doesn't fit my needs, and that's fine, isn't the point of Corbenik for us to be the control freaks? ^_^ But the chainloader works, and it's an amazing addition to an already amazing CFW.

And I can't wait to see the stuff chaoskagami has planned for the CFW. ^_^ <3

I like using a bootanim, splash screens and background for the loaders and tools despite it making booting take longer. Something about how it feels more responsive when you see everything happen. It's weird.
Plus, it looks good. :)

Me neither.

I'm not really a fan of the whole button pressing chainloader (I forget my mappings all the time) but hey, if it doesn't fit your needs - there's a build without it. In my use case, the number of times I boot into an ARM9 payload is much less than I spend actually running my console and CFW. It's certainly slower than button presses, obviously. ;)

You also forget that I'm the sort of nerd that has Illyasviel set as his wallpaper on his computer. I actually intend to implement backgrounds at some point, just not a priority right now. It's mostly an aesthetic thing. I'd also like to implement a dimmer/darkening option so the text is actually readable on white-ish wallpapers. ^_^

I'm still on break today. Don't expect many changes. I just got an R4i DC 2016 in the mail, so I'm about to go and dump my entire DS library, which will take a while.

Just have 2 button presses to really memorize. Up for CtrBootManager9, which has all the payloads. And Down for BrickWait Mode. Got to use that cheat menu, since NTR is thrash. Apart from that I am 60% of the time just booting right into Corbenik. Helping noobs is hard. I even got the three key presses that the A9LH guide has you used memorized, just because of helping noobs. Damn me and wanting to help noobs. lol ^_^

I hope the background thing is for the whole menu. :P I wouldn't mind having another Sinon background added to all my consoles. ^_^ I have triple monitor setup, and have a different Sinon wallpaper on each. lol :D

As you should be, enjoy that break~! Looks like @Crystal the Glaceon has also decided to just enjoy playing games, instead of trying to break Corbenik. :P ^_^

Corbenik still doesn't work with the latest Aurora's A9LH?

I have no clue. Test it and report back? I'm not personally using AW's branch.

I don't like the idea of a mini-CFW in NAND, especially when everyone is touting the screeninit/noscreeninit as the major feature, so I'm continuing to use delebile's implementation.

That said, if it doesn't work, I'll attempt to fix it obviously. :P

I use Aurora's fork (since saturday), but I have Corbenik as my default CFW, I wanted to know 'cause I want to continue to use Corbenik but update the A9LH (cause I like the idea of mini CFW in NAND)

I mean, it should work. Screen-init or not.

Btw, awesome work @chaoskagami
I loved the idea of your CFW since this thread opened :3

Thanks. :P

Glad it works, by the way. I expected it would, but I still like to get confirmation.

Still taking a break, but I plan to at least semi-resume tomorrow and take a look at the next few tasks to plan ahead. It's all big tasks now, not really any little easy-to-implement ones now.

I'll be waiting, I see the github repository everyday to see if have any changes xD

Semi-resuming. I'm going to take it slow from here - I don't have all day to do this like when I started, and again, most tasks are large at this point.

Wallpaper support was added to git for top and bottom screen.

Anyone compiling can place 90 degree rotated RGB8 image data (that's a menuhax splash, basically) at `/corbenik/bits/top.bin` and `/corbenik/bits/bottom.bin` to get a wallpaper. There's no dimming support at the moment, which I kind of want.

EDIT: I figure I should also mention that this combined with autoboot+silent is basically a splash screen for all intents.

I will be trying this out, welcome back :)

Sweet!

I challenge all photoshop gurus to convert the HD image below into top.bin, but with the sword handle pointing towards the right. I'll try with gimp, but it won't look pretty.

Is this what you'e going for? BTW, this was done in gimp really quickly. Flip horizontal -> resize height 240 keep aspect (lanczos) -> canvas size 400x240.

By the way, there's a site for easy conversion of images in the proper size: https://xem.github.io/3DShomebrew/tools/image-to-bin.html
