It just sounds like too much of a plan to just say that. Making this rumor would have just brought more attention to his absence.
The pastebins are a bit hard to believe, that I get. But I don't think it should already be proven false. Heck, the account who posted the second conversation is almost 10 years old.
But I guess you're right on one thing, and a few others already said it. There's really not much we can do, real or not; so there's not much to debate about.

No way a conversation that short would last 3 hours. I really hope no one actually believes this. Here's something I don't get, maybe because I don't know the story other than the pastebins:

So whatever shady organization was after dude, right? To get the exploit and use it for profit? And dude supposedly quit the internet in order to not be found by them because they were trying to get him arrested or some shit?

If everything I said is right, wouldn't the logical thing to do, for dude's safety, be to ensure the exploit gets released? If this shady third party here wants to get him to spill the beans and monopolize the exploit for themselves, wouldn't they have no reason to keep after him if this exploit just somehow found its way into public knowledge?

Like, I want to protect dude, first and foremost, but I don't understand why someone else finding the exploit wouldn't be like the perfect get out of jail free card for him.

If I'm wrong, which I probably am, I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but can someone explain why I'm wrong?

I know this is too simple and no one wants to believe that he scammed them so well for so long - but the truth is the truth.
At least SMEA was willing to admit here that the wiiu defeated him - and SMEA is way smarter the this guy could ever be in his dreams.
