heh, got my mouse for years however in a rage attack i throw it away and right button does no longer work (plastic inside broke)

i really loved this moue because it has 2 thumb buttons and the wheel can be tilted to the sides to scroll horizontally...
it also had the typical dpi + and - buttons and if i installed the drivers and software i could program it..
however this 2 last options i ended up not using them, but the horizontal scrolling i need it :(

so any good reccomendations? checked on retail store, couldn't find anything that interested me, just typical gimmick bullshit "it has lights, it looks like a deodorant bottle, wow much COD" there was also the standarn office mouses and bill gates stuck in the 80s\90s
just a couple of them had the horizontal scrolling from a selection of about 40 mouses.. and no one caugh my interest (either ridicolous expensive or "trying too much" )

I've been using a logitech g500 for a while now and I've been really satisfied.
It has horizontal scrolling, 3 thumb buttons and the classic buttons +/- DPI buttons (that can all be reprogrammed with the drivers).
There's a compartment for weights inside the mouse if you like having a heavier mouse.
Design is pretty minimal and I find it comfortable, nothing flashy apart from a small red light for the DPI.
I don't think it's produced anymore though, so I dunno how difficult it would be to find one.

Horizontal scroll is not that common. Most of the mouses with it these days seem to be logitech.

Unfortunately, their mouses have been getting more and more rediculous and all of their modern gaming mice look like transformers.

Logitech G502 Proteus Core. Popular mouse and for a good reason. It's super nice.

Yea the transformer-design trend is kinda annoying, I'd rather have a really sleek and comfortable mouse than a futuristic looking one.
When I bought my mouse it already wasn't one of the latest models, but it's pretty functional which is the most important for me.

Is horizontal scroll that useful? The only times I figure I am really likely to need it is image editing/3d modelling and middle click or something usually allows a move anywhere or similar. If you are doing a lot of portrait monitor or have a 4:3 screen then maybe.

I am however here to say maybe steer away from the silly gaming mice and look instead at something like tecknet. They have most of the desirable functionality of a gaming mouse (many buttons, adjustable DPI, weights, programmable stuff), are a fraction of the price, don't have drivers that seem to border on malware and anecdotally I have about 5 in service, including on my primary PC, and they are holding up as well as any cyborg or fancy mouse I have had over the years. On the transformer thing then there are some of those but most look like old ergonomic mice, albeit with some LEDs any colour as long as it is black plastic.

The one you linked was a piece of junk but proper old Microsoft mice from the early 2000s are still pretty sought after -- you rock up with a crate of early 2000s wired laser intellimouses (mice?) to any PC repair/enthusiast crowd and it will not last long, you find the right office and it will go even quicker. The only thing that would go faster would be ps/2 IBM mechanical keyboards.

i like it, gonna see availability, other options, but it's something that i see myself using it..
my current mouse has the weights thing, i happened to never use them..

with every thing my current mouse has, like 7 profiles for macros, dpi changing, weights, 2 plates to change the design..
from the "extra features" i only had been using horizontal scrolling and it's something that i can't give away that easily, and they are also extra 2 buttons for games.. they are usefull for me.. all the features i was originally hyped for this mouse with time, they become just gimmicks and things i no use in months or even years
this mouse had "everything" but it isn't confortable (it needs someone to get used to) and laser precision is awfull..

that mouse reminded me the huge trackballs that existed in the past, or somehting that i would see in a sci fi movie but in tin foil colour
in retail they had it in a bundle with a modern version of this keyboard
wich reminded me of that 95 "sitcom" instruction video..
