Square Enix released some pictures and character art from the upcoming Final Fantasy 15 tie in film, Kingsglaive. It is being directed by Takeshi Nozue, one of Square Enix's in house people. He does not have many features to his name yet but he was co-director on the Final Fantasy 7 - Advent Children tie in film as well as many of the "movies" within Final Fantasy 13 and Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, as well as being variously responsible for CG in earlier Final Fantasy titles. Final Fantasy 13 was not a terribly well received title but "all this cool stuff in the cinematics and this is the game" was a criticism levelled at it more than once.
Not much word on plot, though between the bundled text and IMDB listing it appears to be following a tried and true Starship Troopers Final Fantasy formula of "small elite team in a place under attack, survival of team and place is on the line". That said when it comes to trailers more is not necessarily better. No word of a release date beyond "2016".

BUG!!​

Looking at the things sent then even with static shots you get a bit too much of the uncanny valley for our taste.

Things had improved from Spirits within to Advent Children but from these it is a concern once more. On the other hand Advent Children had some great action scenes and a film without the need to... cater for the Final Fantasy 7 fandom then this could be even better.

Sir, I don't understand. Who needs a knife in a nuke fight anyway?​
