If course you can update a game without updating your firmware. That's what WUP Installer does for you. And you can get your dlc using NNU patcher
but wupinstaller requires nunsgrabber right? I tried that yesterday but for some reason the game updates are completely removed from nunsgrabber

well in my case the problem is that I cannot update my physical copy of the game without updating my firmware and cannot do any modding. So I'm stuck having to use loadline with dumped updates. If my purchased game was updated then yea I wouldn't use loadline for it all. But eitherway shouldn't matter if loadline is suppose to support DLC. My guess is that it keeps dumping the DLC incorrectly considering theres literally nothing but txt files in the dlc folder
Nope, you dumped it correctly, that's all that is in the folders. The DLC is actually located in the game update, but those folders, along with your license is how it knows to use the DLC. If the DLC is not working, then you don't have the latest update on your console. Install at least one of the game updates that includes the DLC with WUP Installer on your console and then re-dump the game.

The DLC works just fine in Loadiine from testing on my end.

ah ok so basically i needed the game update on my system and not just loadline
Try new nusgrabber gui. Make sure to update your titles before you look for the update in the app
Is there an alternative to Nusgrabber? It connects to the internet and just crashes for no reason even with visual c++x86 installed. Seems like its very buggy after reading the thread about it in cases of it not working.

What server are you using? I'm using xampp and I don't get anywhere near 100% launch with loadiine nightly. I do on hbl tho. 5.5.1

You could try the one in my self hosting package. It's working on all firmwares right now.
Where is it? Thank you!

To dump it correctly for Loadiine, you need to have the update applied to the game when you dump it with ddd.

hmm well thats a problem since I can't even open new-nusgrabber without it crashing seems like theres no other program out there that can give me updates for the system. Jnust-tool updates are only for loadline which is pretty much useless for smash bros DLC apparently if the game wasn't updated before the dump according to what you said previously. Which makes sense b/c the DLC aren't appearing even with latest Jnust-tool update

And if you are on 5.5.1, why are you not downloading the update directly to the console? There is no system update higher than that right now.

wow i had no idea well if thats the case then I'll just enable my Nintendo wifi connection to get the update. Ive had my Wii U disabled ever since it automatically updated to 5.5.1 I just wasn't taking any chances of it auto updating lol this solves my problem all together no loadline or dumps required

What can we expect from loadiine on later releases, besides compatibility of course??
Any features in mind??
There's a list of changes at the end of the first post. I add only the changelog interesting to the user (when a memory issue is fixed, people don't care).
I didn't add the new "auto id-6 from xml" yet to that list. the other things should be up to date. if not, I'll add them on next post update.

I feel silly for asking this but what do I do with the Loadiine nightly files I download. I thought this would contain a simple folder with an .elf, .xml, and icon like any other app but it has an elf and some www folder and I have no idea where to put these exactly.

Do I need any of these on my PC end to launch loadiine or all of this goes to the SD card?

Make a copy of the old GX2 folder and just over write the elf in it. Rename the folder and the elf (to match folder name) and edit the meta.xml (to tell which is which on HBL.)

I dont have a meta or even an icon.png and I dont know where I would get them since I never had them previously.

Also what do I do with the www folder?

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
