I just found out that the ALPHA has been leaked.

Good glad I came prepared with an unbricked N3DS 2.1 sysNAND I had before OTPHelper released, because it'll save me from an brick (I hope). ;)

I am right now trying to run Gateway on my N3DS using the Homebrew Launcher (MenuHAX) on my 9.0 SysNAND (Which I reverted back to an version before I installed A9LH), to format EmuNAND. After putting the files back, I'll restore my 2.1 NAND using EmuNAND9. Then I'll run go.gateway-3ds.com and complete the process.

If I were you I'd wait until it becomes more stable.

What happens (or should) to emuNAND when you install a9lh? Does it automatically get transfered to sysNAND with some dank mlg coding wizardry or do we have to reinstall all our games and apps?
Wizardry happens.
You delete your emunand cause it essentially gets flashed to sysnand, so it becomes sysnand. You keep all your games on your SD card and it'll all come back once a9 is finished.

There's a option you can select to copy emunand to sysnand (keep a9lh) in decrypt9 and all your games will be there on sysnand

I know the Time-Machine is unstable, but is the A9LH Installer unstable? I am using on-my-own instructions here.

It's kinda another way to install it. But in my way.

I just went for a short comatose and there's 40 pages addition to this thread when I opened my eyes.... :U people sure hate their Gateways but it's too soon to jump to conclusions.

XD

I can claim about 2 pages of posts by myself. Once the details of the A9LH install came out I went bonkers with hate and discontent.

I actually didn't like what people are saying because it's just a beta test, it's not final yet. I already turned my o3ds to a9lh which I might just sell and keep my new 3ds. I just hope a9lhax on new 3ds will be easier through Gateway... I also still want to use Luma though.

The current Gateway A9LH Installer is unstable, especially for N3DS: It doesn't unbrick emunand before flashing it to SysNand, so you'll probably want to use OTPHelper to unbrick it before you flash it to SysNand.

wow, someone is getting butthurt :D . first, you can't download .3ds files off the nintendo network directly, or even use ciaangel or funkeycia. Or even .tiks. I think that .tiks can easily surprass the "convenience" of drag and drop .3ds files. Because, you're downloading and installing directly so you don't go to shady sites downloading your .3ds. also, do you like being banned online for using .3ds? That doens't happen with cias AFAIK. Also, CIAS are right and conveniently on the home menu, which is astetically and more convenient that that shitty rom selection menu on GW. Also, can you screen record with GW? I think you can't. Also, other things like brick protection, multi cfw boot with a9lh, gba and dsi booting right on updated sysnands. Your arguments are so reused by GW users that are growing old. Please, I don't want to rekt or offend anyone by this, but I think you're trying to start a flame war. And my warning level is kinda growing high so just don't do it please
Just. No. First off, you can do all that using Gateway.

Second, GW was meant to DUMP YOUR OWN GAMES, which carries ZERO risk of a ban. If you want to be a pirate, you can add your private header to any rom and use it that way. Dropping a .3ds directly onto a card is still way faster than downloading from CDN. Always will be. Your 3DS wireless hardware will never get any faster.

You can load NTR on top of GW, so yes to the recording thing. You're a complete idiot, so just stop.

EDIT: And your warning level would stop growing if you'd stop sh*t posting in a GW thread when you don't even use one. You don't belong. Move along now.

So it's not only the Time-Machine?! Sheesh... :O I have to continue anyway...

I have an 2.1 unbricked backup from one of Pallect's old guides (It was before OTPHelper was made). I can handle it.

I'm formatting EmuNAND on another mSD for the process now. It's little bit after 50% complete on formatting.

Next I'll recopy my files and flash my unbricked 2.1 sysNAND to my NAND.

I'll tell you what I'll do next SOON.

If you don't mind me asking... who exactly are you arguing with?

The things that got me to buy a Gateway3DS was it's cheat engine and the fact that I can use ROM Hacks like Star Sapphire and Rutile Ruby, and yes, I am aware .cia versions exist for those, but I use the .cia versions of Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby for other stuff and online play, and I'm pretty sure you can't have both as they share the title id, and since there ROM hacks I have no intention of going online with them, not like you can anyways.

However, I bought mine used from another member on here, and that's because I didn't feel like supporting Gateway directly, with how long they take to release updates, and the fact that they seem to not have a public a9 payload to work with current A9LH setups, makes me glad I went used.

I also have a Sky3DS+ (I got this for free from a friend, for setting up A9LH on his system) - And I primarily use that for it's ease of use with *hax exploits to help other friends downgrade and get them setup on A9LH.

In the end, people choose to go with whatever option makes sense for them. No matter what arguments you bring up.

P.S: Please don't bash me, just a simple girl who likes helping others~ <3

So, Since we're allowed to share feedback and information and screenshots with the public....

I have not tried using gateway's downgrade yet..
i just used a 2.1 backup i had from following plailects guide
  • A9LH Installer is essentially OTPhelper, an arm9 installer, and decrypt9..
  • It dumps the OTP to your SD, then installs their Arm9 payload, Then restores nand.bin from the SD card preserving the arm9 installation that was just preformed.... (just like that one option in decrypt9)
So far an updated sysnand mode has not been implemented.. and sysnand bricks when updated in GW mode
HOWEVER, If you choose to use an 11.0 nand.bin when using A9LH installer on 2.1, you'll end up with 11.0 sysnand and GW's arm9loaderhax
