Hello,

Which is the best SD card to pick? Which size, which brand?
I'd like to hear which brand you have and which size and where you bought it.

Thanks in advance,
Twan

I have a Sandisk Ultra 32gb microSD class 10 bought from amazon, never had a problem with it, would recommend a lot ^^

Yeah thought that to, but shipping to Netherlands costs much and they dont accept PayPal anymore...

try to find a balance between price, capacity, and speed!

a cheap big card might be slow as hell for example and that will hurt during loadtimes :P (and might slow down installs, especially from the sdcard. internet/pc not so much)

for exmaple a 32gig card and a 64gig card for around the same price, it might be wiser to go with the 32gig if it's faster.

Samsung or Sandisk will work fine, 64GB if you install LOTS of games and don't want to worry about storage space, Class 10 only.

64GB microSD cards are damn cheap nowadays, there isn't much reasons not to get it.

Thanks, but should i pay attention to writing speed and read speed? Class 10 has for e.g. 48 MB/s, 80MB/s...

It doesn't really matter. Class 10 is more than enough to saturate anything the 3DS may do.

The difference between a 80MB and a 48MB will probably be seconds or even less so just buy the cheaper Class 10.

The Sandisk one looks fine, no Amazon in your country?

I'd say go buy a big name brand (eg Sandisk, Samsung etc.) offline. It's quite surprising how many fake cards (ones that hold the amount of memory they say they can but have terrible flash which dies after a few months) are floating online, even on Amazon.

Stores are not open right now so yeah...
However, dataio.nl is a trusted website.

Yes there is, but it has like $7 shipping costs for when i searched it and i dont have an credit card.

Well, if samsung is also good, then this would be perfect i guess? http://www.dataio.nl/samsung-64gb-micro-sd-evo-met-adapter-uhs-i-class-10-48mbs/
If you can get a Samsung or Toshiba for cheaper, go for it.
If you don't need it right now and can wait 3 weeks or so, you can buy one from china. They have some pretty cheap stuff.

Fake cards have evolved past that. They now have the correct capacity, but the quality is still lower.

Get a pny or sandisk one in retail stores. Never get anything below 64 GB as you'll run out of space pretty damn quickly. Also go for a class 10 U1 one which are pretty fast. A sandisk one costed me 20€ retail

I've bought stuff from large Chinese online stores several times, they are all good.

I ordered something there before, so i thought it was a trusted website....

Just buy from Coolblue or go to your local electronics store. Heck, even Kruidvat sells decent 16GB cards. I got one for €7.50.

Use EasUS tool for formatting. Just Google it, it's free.
