Does trimming roms affect any gameplay? For example the graphics or the shaders or anything else?

I dont know if this has been asked before, if yes, i am really sorry :( ! But i couldnt find anything boit trimming

Trimming roms is perfectly safe and has zero affect on the game itself. It just removes the empty blank space from the rom. Some people claim that using trimmed roms can cause issues, but there is nothing really to support this. Trimming roms is the way to go.

The exception is Type 2 roms because these use the blank for space for save data. Do NOT trim Pokemon games, Animal Crossing etc.

It's a bit outdated, but this list is what you should check. It refers to them as 'Card 2' roms.

Note that Type 2 roms are actually very uncommon, pretty much just games that have massive save files. The vast majority of roms are Type 1 and can be trimmed fine.
