Tried using latest 4.1 on a 9.2 sys/10.7 emu n3ds menuhax and it won't boot past the splash screen. 4.0 worked fine. Tried about 10 times now. Any ideas?

I did (I started this update process shortly before I posted this issue a few hours ago). The files in the latest 4.1 zip are timestamped "5-18-2016 6:58 AM".
well im saying i updated those binaries twice since its release. Last update was precisely 3 hrs ago. It was an issue with patches file. If the last byte is 00, delete it.

I made a commit of the new patcher system. It seems to not like too many patches, but ehh.. its not the most optimized thing either.. thats why i dont wanna make a release just yet, but think of this as an open beta instead lol.
Also patcher.dat is unneeded with this update so just delete it from the patch folder and keep the new patch files.

Since update to 4.1, Monster Hunter 4 won't boot, it just reboots the system.
I am running an old 3DS with A9LH and ctrbootmanager9 as a boot loader (renamed arm9loaderhax.bin to ReiNAND.bin)
So now downgrading back to 4.0 has the same results. .-. It was working before this and it working on all of my other CFW's.

Rei doesnt shit post in the Luma thread so fuck off from this one. I never knew Luma "devs" were so immature.

Daily reminder who the real code thieves are.

If the select few Luma "devs" put as much time into programming as they do into making propaganda for this thread, they might actually make a decent CFW.
I am 90% sure you only joined to shit on Luma, but I am just going to call you out on this. Luma started out as ReiNAND project to port ReiNAND to the old 3DS, as ReiNAND was New 3DS only.
As time moved on, she started taking the project in her own direction. Since then she's added features such as, no longer needing Firmware.bin, all plugins like GBA/DS(i) and region-free are built into the launcher, added a custom menu, added bottom splash, was the first project to add A9LH support and FIRM0/1 protection, and completely revamped the ReiNAND base. She's more than made a "decent CFW," she's made an amazing CFW contributed to the community greatly.
But honestly, it's pretty obvious that because it's popular, you joined for the soul reason to dump on the project because it's popular and you brought it here because you most likely wanted to start some petty CFW war.

On topic, I tested Monster Hunter 4 on Luma, CakesFW (175,) SaltFW, and Mizuki, all work. ReiNAND seems to be the only giving me hassle and that makes me sad.

Well, since I'm pretty sure that you are using an Old 3DS(at least, if my memory isn't failing), it must mean that reboot patches still aren't working on ReiNAND + o3DS, could you try Smash 4 or a DS/GBA game to confirm that?

I have actually been using reiNAND for the past week as my main and playing MH4 on it the whole time. DS and GBA are both working fine. I don't have Smash sadly, even though I own it on my eShop, I really don't want to redownload just for this test.

There never were reboot patches because that makes things too messy. I was gonna look into a cleaner solution, but since i dont play either series (and its o3ds only problem), it wasnt on my priority list. lol

The plot thickens.

@Crystal the Glaceon you must've been using another CFW and not even noticing it, because all of those titles require reboot patches. As Rei has already stated, they haven't been implemented because they're O3DS only (unless you count that 178MB memory mode for N3DS). They're messy, but they're the only solution right now

 I need to check and make sure I didn't fuck up my boot splashes. All of my CFWs have different boot splashes, so I know which one I am booting into. So i most likely was using another CFW and somewhere along the lines my splashes were moved.
Also, why not just port over the patches? I mean every CFW based on reiNAND has these patches.

Rei has said that he doesn't like the hacky solutions that people are currently doing in order to support reboot patches. That's why he doesn't just "port over the patches." It's not an issue of not being technically able to, but an issue of not liking the current solution.

Fair enough, but kind of sucks that I can't actually use reiNAND for this game.

And I doubt there is another, non-hackish as Rei says to do it (I may be wrong, though): the choice made by Nintendo to reboot to make the SYSTEM region 0x02000000 bytes (32 MB) smaller seems logical.

I'm not saying if there is or not (I don't know enough to say whether there is or not :P), I was simply explaining Rei's reason for not adding it and why he didn't just "port it over" like crystal suggested.

To be honest I doubt there's a better way, if anything because Nintendo themselves chose to do a firmlaunch (so almost a soft reboot) instead of switching things on the fly, I suppose because it would have been way harder to do (and if it's harder, it probably would need heavy FIRM modifications). Also, mid-kid partially rewrote the firmlaunch patch and it's way cleaner than previously so it might be worth a look.
