Homebrew stuck during step 4.22 (getting the OTP)

ive been following the guide of Plailect until 4.22 at that point im stuck...
because i used a 2GB SD and it doesnt have enough space to save a backup of emunand


sofar:
sysnand 9.2 (local)
rednand emu10.7 (2GB SD)
partitions: *: (rednand) G: homebrew stuff

bought a new card 64GB
partitions: G: homebrew stuff *: (rednand)

booting into homebrew: works
after using luma: sys9.2

so... rednand doesnt get activated im not even sure if the rednand got carried over to the new card

Buy a 32Gb SD card, since it's what's supported by 3DS. They costs like 9€, so it has to be easy to you to get one. Also, you may be able to backup one nand, amount the SD card to copy in the PC, backup the other one... And all of that, but it may be not a good idea at all.

i got a 64gb (currently having space of 6gb partitioned and 945mb for the rednand) one but i cant currently make the emunand backup

As I said, buy a 32Gb. It's better. You may format your 64Gb SD to work in 3DS, but it won't work as well as a 32Gb would. You'll have no problems with a 32Gb SD, and also as much space as you'll need.

i meant i cant make a backup on my 2GB card

not until my 64gb can be booted into rednand to be sure it has rednand to make a backup of it

A 128GB card works fantastic. I doubt a 64GB will have less performance.

Also, 32GB nowadays isn't much for someone who has 40+ games.

It can give problems, also in emunand. A9LH is a delicated process, so he should use something that should not fail. A 32Gb SD is what he needs. That, or a 8Gb, if he want to use a 64Gb before on his own risk.

Use some imaging software. tutorial as a sticky in the CFW/Flashcart section

You can use EmuNANDTool to save a backup on your computer. That might be all you need. Or, to switch over to the bigger card, you have to format it for emunand in whichever way you wish (eg emunand9) and then inject the backup into it using your PC. And also copy over all the files. Read the sticky called 'transfer emunand to a new SD - working on new 3ds!'

I use a 64gb with no problems. Show me one example of a properly formatted 64gb card that's the cause of a 3ds related problem because as far as I know they're not widespread.

If the program keeps giving you beef, then try this
1. Copy every file to the 64GB SD (Yes ik EmuNand is on the other, shush)
2. Delete every file on the 2GB SD (Don't format, and EmuNand is Still there. ik)
3. copy the 3ds folder, and if you have one, the EmuNAND9 folder, back to the 2GB SD
4. Put the 64GB SD in the system, Boot, and open the Homebrew launcher
5. While still in the homebrew launcher, remove the 64GB SD from the system and insert the 2GB
6. launch EmuNAND9
7. Backup EmuNAND
8. Backup every file on the 64GB SD
9. Format the 64GB SD for EmuNAND (Complete EmuNAND Setup)
10. Unmount the SD
11. Copy all the files back onto the 64GB SD, and also copy over the EmuNand backup (Skip common files when doing this) (See what I did there?)
12. Reinsert the SD into the system, and restore the EmuNand backup

emunandtool doesnt detect any sd card
i dont even have a backup yet :/ because im stuck on that part

I made a comment on the guide thread about how it should tell users to use an 8GB or larger card. Is there any message there or did Plailect ignore me? Problems like this user has could be avoided if they were told to have a big enough card to begin with.

Edit: It is in the FAQ section. Tisk tisk OP, you forgot to read the whole thing before starting

  A: You might be able to make do with 4GB, but any smaller is pushing it, because the emuNAND itself will take up about 1GB of your card and NAND backups are large.
