Is there anything I can do to determine whether the flashcart is being read by my 3DS or not? I think the flashcart is starting to break. Sometimes I'll have a lot of trouble getting my phat to detect it but eventually it can be read, and so far every time I launch the app with my flashcart in it gives me that black screen error. It's kinda hard figuring out just what is causing this to happen so I'm not too sure where to start fixing it.

You got _DS_MENU.dat on your flashcard's microSD root, right? If so, try the CartLauncher.

What flashcard are you using?

R4 Upgrade Revolution for DS (SDHC), looks like this:

It's using YSMenu 6.90 RGF. It slipped my mind and I forgot to update it from that to 7.04, which is what the YSMenu included in the DSTT Launcher is using. So that might be the reason why it isn't working. But at the same time, I know it has issues being detected so I'm just wondering if there's some sort of way to determine whether the console is actually reading it without needing to launch the app and then restarting the console over and over. I'm not too sure about whether it has a valid icon/banner or not but I don't think it does so that makes things a little harder.

I've tried formatting the microSD of the R4 to FAT16 and nothing, even with the SDFormatter and nothing. I test the R4 on my old DS to see if it is working properly, and it is working on the current setting. I've tried both WoodR4Launcher and R4CartdrigeLauncher and none of them works. I already excluded my 3DS as the root of the problems since i can play DSiware games, even some DS games via Downlad Play and no problems. The launchers are installed on both sysNAND and emuNAND as planned but still doesn't work and i'm tired of rebooting the 3DS over and over again...

There's something that i'm not aware of?

Have you watched Apache's video on the OP of page 1? Maybe it'll tell you what's missing.

I recently watched the video but it didn't tell me something new. He mentioned some issue with payloads but i doubt is the missing piece since the app already solve that.

Yes, but that only happends if the cartdrige cannot get "plugged" on the slot1. I don't have that issue since i use the tiny O3DS and putting the cartdrige is easy.

Maybe you should try it anyway. The card should be ALL the way in.

That isn't harmfull anyways? I put it "all the way through" to the point of not being able to push it more and still got error. I have the idea to put the R4 cartridge little after running the app, but i doubt that works.

How does _DS_MENU.DAT look in a hex editor? Is there "####" at location 0xC?

Open Devenu, if its put in right it should say Unknown Card, if its not in fully it wont find a card.

I'm having issues with my R4 SDHC.

This is my card.I installed the R4i Gold cia on both emunand and sysnand using Luma (aka AuReiNand), and then I put my R4 card in my n3ds and launched the cia from emunand, and everything worked fine .

I tried WoodR4Launcher.rar with Wood R4 1.62, R4CartLauncher_AnyKernel.rar with the original 1.18 firmware, MoonShell2_R4.rar with the MoonShell provided and hbmenu_DSiHybridMode_R4.rar. I couldn't find or generate YSMenu for R4.
Nothing works, it's like the card is not inserted. But it is, when I insert it DevMenu changes from "No Card" to "Unknown Card". Also, N3DS and 2DS had the problem reading the card, not the O3DS. I'm sure the flashcard worked in my NDS.

Depends on what I'm trying to use. With WoodR4Launcher.rar, I see 3 icons with a black background. With R4CartLauncher_AnyKernel.rar, it's stuck in the Loading... screen. With MoonShell2_R4.rar, I see some error screen in english and japanese.
