The n3ds has a faster cpu than the o3ds, it also has an l2 cache that the o3ds doesn't have. The options are for n3ds only and do nothing on the o3ds.

The games that are made for the o3ds don't take advantage of the new 3ds's power. The options let them. It can help to remove or eliminate fps drops in the games and make them play smoother.

What an l2 cache is

So if I have a N3DS is this something I should use? Will this change the speed of games, or just make them look nicer? Should I check the clock+L2 box?

yes it will make them run better not really look better. i would use both as games that need the n3ds need both. but some games dont like the l2 cache. if u find one just reboot holding select and choose clock only.

Latest USA N3DS firmware is apparently not recognized by latest safesysupdater. So, please inform me as to the second to latest firmware. That'll probably get recognized.

Huh? Why are you trying to update to the latest firmware with sysupdater? If you need to, just update using system settings. I don't see why you want to though...

I'm aware of that method, but i'm also a bit paranoid about letting the wifi run loose.

Also in any case the worst that could happen is you have to reinstall an old EmuNAND bin file and you're back in business. As long as your SysNAND doesn't get updated, you'll always be okay.

Is there a way to make ctrx sd explorer load up using a9lh aurei at boot by holding a button? Just like holding Start boots decrypt9wip, x is uncart and y is emunand9. Is there a file I could place in /aurei/payloads and rename it to b.bin?

Godmod9

I actually need some sort of hex and text editor when I don't want to bother going to my pc and modify shit, which is why i chose this over godmode9. Does Ctrx really have no payload for a9lh or anything to make it boot?

Correct. It's either use gm9 or boot into the os and use ctrx

I've read, but unconfirmed, that when updating a game, to uninstall its previous update before installing the new one whether it's legit or not. Is this something that's true to do?
Example: To uninstall an illegitimate update before installing a legit one and vica versa?

Hey guys...i'm just wondering what the difference of the CFWs are

AuReinand / Cakes / rxTools / Reinand - i am kind of confused and overwhelmed with all of that. What are the differences and which one would be the best for a New3DS?

And what exactly is A9LH good for? should i consider installing it?

Thank You :)

AuRei isn't better than any up-to-date CFW
ReiNand - Keep minimalist and easy to use
AuReiNand - The idea is a noob-friendly CFW, easy to use and full of features
CakesFW - The idea of full control and easy to customize the patch features
Mizuki - SysNAND only
RxTools - Even super outdated, it fits for the end user that don't care for GBA and DSi games and don't want A9LH

Every CFW have their end user, and if their features fits the end user then the CFW is better for that specific user.
He can explain this better than me, but in essence, if you want the best, go for either Reinand or Aureinand. At this point, they're pretty similar other than a few features Aureiand has over Reinand.

I've never had this problem.

Can anyone tell me if this step is necessary of installing a9lh?

7. Update your RedNAND to the latest version using system settings if it is not already (DO NOT ENTER DATA MANAGEMENT OR EXIT SYSTEM SETTINGS AS THIS WILL REBOOT YOU INTO SYSNAND)

Thanks!
