Basically all of a sudden after rebooting my computer it pops up with bootmgr is missing press ctrl alt delete to restart and the things I've recently done were delete some Linux partitions that were taking up space and installing fallout new Vegas although I did set my active partition as drive c: thinking shouldn't it be? But I'm guessing that could be why and also don't have the the recovery disk at hand atm I MIGHT be able to get my hands on it but I doubt it so do I have any hope

Note: I have access to bios

Reinstall Windows with your installation media. It sounds like you got a virus and it fucked your computer

You can download Windows 10 media for a USB drive directly from their website, or 7/8.1 media from more shady sources and use Rufus to create a bootable USB stick

You need some OS disc to boot to do anything at all.
Best solution. Get a recovery disc.
Go into internet, download windows from Microsoft, burn it into a disc. Use the disc.

Otherwise you could do something if you had a Linux system bootable from USB or something.
But you need an OS to boot first of all, be it recovery disc it Linux USB.

The easier thing is using a Windows installation or recovery disc.
Put the installation disc, go into recovery, and follow @nxwing instructions.

If you have it, boot it. Get into a terminal and run fdisk on that disk, then activate the correct partition this time.

But it will be easier for you to download what @TotalInsanity4 proposes.
But don't reinstall windows. Just go into recovery mode in the installer and follow @nxwing instructions regarding rebuilding mbr.

So your saying activating the wrong partition was what I did wrong? And do you know which one it'll be?

I believe that the installer only needs 6GB so yeah that's more than fine. You don't need Rufus for Windows 10, you can automatically create a bootable USB with another Windows machine: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO
So basically just download and copy it over? (Or do I burn it like I had to with Linux)

Read again what I added to the previous post.
And yes, the correct position is the system one that is around 100mb or so.

Hmmm...
You probably can do it graphically using gparted.
Try running that and activating the correct partition.

You can also do it in a terminal running:
sudo fdisk /dev/sda
(Or /dev/sdb, whatever is your disk actually)

After that, if you use fdisk instead of gparted, you will have to navigate through text menus and select the appropriate options to activate the correct partition.

I think my post made it obvious that he can use an USB, but if it wasn't so, of course he can.
Either one with linux or with the windows installer. And in the latter case run the bootmgr tool as nxwing suggested.
All the information is there, it is only needed to carry on with the task.

Alright thanks so just clarifying I'll need to use easybcd after this as nxwing suggested earlier right? Btw thanks a lot and I think I'll go with gparted

I just remembered I didn't partition any space for Linux like last time so can it still write to the same drive as Windows? (Guessing it's gonna be a pain to delete it) or last question is can I do it in the little trial test thing is lets you do instead of installing
