Well, I always read the entire guide and make sure I grasp the concepts before I go for it and the guide is very comprehensive, but it lacks definition for various tasks and pictures would help out a lot. I just get sick of seeing all of these guides without detail. If you're going to write one then don't do it half assed.

What kind of definitions/pictures ? The guide is on Git, you know, everyone can ask to push an update...

Also, this guide is not "half assed" to be honest, Plaintect was really careful when he writed it always updated it when softs/methods were updated, and very careful to community thoughts (on Reddit) when he writed guide and then updated it.

Oh god... really ?
There have been a LOT of polls about everything. A lot of people goes on thread with brick polls because they bricked, and a lot of methods were used because A9LH installation process has evolved a lot. Not to mention that there were a lot of polls about bricks and none had the same results. A lot of people without bricks just doesn't care. There is another poll : http://strawpoll.me/7075116/r, I don't see 40% brick here. You can't take polls about bricks for brick chance, that's just dumb and not how statistics works.

The guide IS safe, there's just a lot of people who doesn't seems to know how to read/follow a guide. Most of errors are users-mistakes. Some early versions of softs used were instable a while ago, but that's not the case anymore, and for a long time. SafeA9LHInstaller and OTPHelper are safe.

And you don't seem to know what hypocrite means, because I don't see how what I said makes me an hypocrite...

A9LH bootrate is 100%. So no, go to back to school, learn how to read, and you will figure that no, the guide is perfectly safe as long as you can read.

I meant to say 30% brick rate lol

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

The fact you think a9lh has a 30% boot rate just shows how little you know.

Calm down, I made a typo
Still 30% brick rate...fact

Learn what a fact is. There's 0% brick chance if you follow the guide carefuly.

There's 100% if you do a mistake.

But you keep using dumb polls around, and I already explained why this is just dumb.

It still doesnt disprove the brick rate poll
You jackasses need to stop spamming people's threads with a9lh comments. I'm sure everyone knows about it. Spending 3 hours to set up a9lh just to have 8 seconds faster boot time is stupid in my opinion.

Spend 10800 seconds to save 8 seconds boot time
Lol

I have seen some pretty dumb bricks. Saw one where the guy flashed the otp from another system because he didn't want to do the stuff again. And the brick rate will never be 0 there is always a risk when flashing anything to the nand. With that said the risk is extremely small because of the guide and the tools. I would say the risk of downgrading for menuhax is higher as those guides are not as well written and often use older version of the downgraders that had bugs. I wrote a guide for my friends to follow for getting menuhax because of that. But because of the otp guide I just point them to that now.

Then what about my poll ? Results are not anywhere close to your poll. So yes, it disprove your poll, because taking a poll results to statistics is completely stupid.

He asked what he should to, we told him. A9LH is now widespreaded, safe. You just too dumb to follow a guide ? Your problem.

Just to have 100% boot rate, faster boot, ability to update SysNAND, have brick-proof SysNAND. I don't know who is stupid but I'm pretty much sure it isn't us.

There are also more benefits to it than that but I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand them.

Oh nice. The condescending tone. I'm sure I'm way more qualified than you. Plus I don't need to unbrick my sysnand because I'm not messing with it at all. All I need is to boot into emunand and play.

You might think everyone has 3 hours to spare out of our day which is filled with kids, a wife, a day job and school. Most of the people who have time to spend 3 hours to do this nonsense are usually teens who live a home, or social degenerates.

Since you want to get all condescending.. There you go.

Like I said, I don't think it's worth spending over 10 thousand seconds to save 8 every time you boot up your 3ds.

You're leaving out all the time spent for failed boots. My bootrate was close to 25 seconds with menuhax. With a9lh using a animation and splash screen its like 15. I could remove those things and prob get 10 seconds or less. The failed boot rate on menuhax is what pushed me to change to a9lh and I did it when the guide still had some issues.

Okay, there's 0.0000000000001% chance if you get cosmic ray altering your RAM during flash :) (Joking here).

My point is the brick chance is very close to 0% if you follow the steps. The NAND flash doesn't fail randomly, it works just fine. The only random part is downgrade, which is done in EmuNAND so it's safe. Downgrading to 9.2 in the first place is more risky...

I always leave my system in sleep mode. So in my case, I don't need a9lh

Ya depending on the downgrade tool downgrading to 9.2 can carry a huge brick risk. The newer ones have changes to make it a bit safer but not every guide uses the new ones

Are you sure about that? I wouldn't make guesses unless you have some foundation for them really and I have just seen you advise someone to stick with emunand in another thread so that they can have more space on their sysnand chip for games.

If you don't want to use a9lh then that's totally fine but pulling statistics out of your ass to back up a potential argument is not. I'll be honest, I was also sceptical about a9lh until I tried it and now I wouldn't go back. It can take 2-3 hours to complete but much of that time is just waiting around for backups to finish etc so you don't need to dedicate all of your attention to it.

Like I tell people if you're happy with your setup keep it. I wasn't so I changed it. There is nothing wrong with still using menuhax.

But and this is a big one you running around screaming brick makes you just as bad as the dumb asses running around screaming master race.

Which is why everyone should be following the plaitec guide at this point IMHO. You can even just stick with emunand and menuhax and call it a day after part 3 of the plaitec guide if you really want to.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of talented guide writers on here and mrmario's video guides are excellent but having multiple guides all over the place just increases the element of risk really.
