Hello,
I ran Menuhax 2.1 and SysUpdater to downgrade my new 3DS XL from 9.9.0-26E to 9.2
SysUpdater seemed to work all fine installing CIA files so I left it, but after sometime I suddenly found it with this message "An error has occured" pictured here http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35588&d=1396402693

So I rebooted my 3DS, but it didn't turn on (Black Screen, no sound). I tried removing the SD card and rebooting and thankfully it booted successfully, then I changed theme and now I can even boot my 3DS with the SD card inserted.

I checked the version and it was indeed 9.2, I want to make sure everything is ok and that my system is intact before I proceed on. Did I downgrade successfully? Should I try reinstalling 9.2 firmware? The fact that I got that message instead of the normal "rebooting after 10 seconds" message worries me

which version of SysUpdater should I use? Because there is this "safe" SysUpdater but I think it's for newer firmware?

If you recieved that error message, you have NOT in fact downgraded successfully. You're in a state called frankenfirmware, where part of your system files have downgraded successfully, but not all of them. As was suggested, re-run the downgrader, and cross your fingers.

EDIT: Entirely off topic, but yay for my 1000th message.

Well right now I can't boot into Homebrew Launcher (holding the L button method), and when I try to run Internet Browser to run MenuHax it says "You need to connect to the internet and perform a system update". Any ideas?

Quote from Plailect's guide:
  1. Launch the Settings application
  2. Change the date to January 1, 2000
  3. Change the time to 00:00
  4. Launch the browser, then open the browser settings as fast as possible
  5. Scroll to the bottom and Initialize Savedata (it also may be called Clear All Save Data) as fast as possible
  6. Navigate to http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php on your 3DS (if you get a slider, zoom all the way in on it, then tap the very right edge of it; this can take quite a few tries)
  7. Your console should load the homebrew menu

This doesn't work because I can't launch the Internet Browser in the first place, else I would be forced to update to the latest firmware
When you get the error message, does it show with a black background? In that case you have a stubbed browser. How did you get menuhax installed originally? Surely not with browserhax.

Wait, doesn't changing the date and time bypass the update nag? I thought thats the whole point of it.

No, not a black background, just a window pops out with the message and background turns a little more grey. And I did get menuhax installed with browserhax after some fiddling with DNS and stuff

Oh man, you're so lucky.
Next time, verify you have the correct files! (and maybe use safesysupdater)

Is there a way for me to bypass the browser update message now?

EDIT: Changing the datetime to January 1, 2000, 00:00 doesn't work, it gives the same message

You also need to delete the browser's save data.
