Hi everyone, I have one question because I cant find solution for this.
I want downgrade my 3DS from 10.6, but its patched and menuhax doesn't work. So I wanted downgrade via hardmod, and now Im read that after patch my dumped nand, the menuhax still dont work and I must have ocarina/cubic ninja. The question is:
Is that true? I cant use menuhax when downgrading via hardmod?

Sorry for my bad english and thanks for help.

You can downgrade native firm to 10.3 and have menuhax work. Or you can get oot/cubic ninja.

My tutorial states:
If you are on 10.6.0 (not 10.4.0 or 10.5.0), you must have an alternate entry point such as ninjhax or OOThax since browserhax was patched.

That makes me afraid. So after this instruction below, I can use browserhax normally?

  1. Extract the autofirm pack to a folder of your choice
  2. Place a copy of your NAND file (named nand.bin) in the autofirm folder
  3. Download the appropriate decrypted 10.4.0/10.5.0/10.6.0 NATIVE-FIRM and the decrypted 10.2.0 NATIVE-FIRM as CIA files
  4. Rename the 10.4 NATIVE_FIRM file to firmoriginal.cia then put it in the autofirm folder
  5. Rename the 10.2 NATIVE_FIRM file to firmnuevo.cia then put it in the autofirm folder
  6. Place the msvcr120d.dll file in the autofirm folder
  7. Run "start.bat"
  8. If everything worked, then you will have a modified nand.bin containing the 10.2.0 NATIVE_FIRM on version 10.4.0, 10.5.0, or 10.6.0
  9. Flash this nand.bin
Your version number will not have changed in the settings, but the exploit has worked.

You'll need a hardmod but yeah

Cheaper to purchase? No. Hardmodding materials cost about $30 assuming you have nothing to start with. Cheaper when you inevitably brick your 3ds and have to buy a new one? Yes.
I made that suggestion based on OP's statement that he can't get his NAND flasher to work.

Soldering irons are that cheap?

OoT + power saves would cost 40 total, I would have thought that buying everything required for a hard mod (soldering iron, compatible sd card reader, wires, etc) would cost more

i bought a $12 iron on amazon, and it came with solder, solder wick, and a solder sucker thingy. hardmodded my 2ds with it, and used it for several jobs that i really should have had a better iron for. sd reader i got was $8. wire i salvaged from a ide cable, and bought micro jst connectors off ebay for less than $5. so minus labor and electricity, looks like it would cost like $25 to start from scratch, assuming you have spare ide ribbons. which you can get easily.

downgrading native firm won't downgrade your browser , so you will still need oot/cubic to start hbl for now
either find someone with a cubic/ocarina card to borrow or a sky3ds
