During the process of getting otp (actually after successfully getting it) seems like i bricked my n3ds.

Here is what i did:

  • All the steps to get otp, worked fine.
  • Tried to restore sysnand back to 9.2 from 2.1, got errors that a backup couldn't be found.
  • updated to 4.1 with a game.
  • updated to 9.2 with game.
  • device crashed few seconds after menu loaded.
  • went to recovery mode and did a full update over the network (wanted to downgrade after back to 9.2 from 10.7)
  • after full update the device won't load, black screen... can't load into recovery mode :(
  • tried with and without the sd card.
Something i can do at this point?

Thanks!

Not sure what you did (voltage fluctuation during update process, ie. rough handling or low battery), or something related to NAND signature failing which I don't think is possible because you were only able to do till steps to get OTP (and not actually applying the A9LH yet).
If you have sysNAND backup made, you can hardmod console and flash it and start all over again.

The update seemed to work fine. The device did a reset and didn't load. I do see the blue light on.

I have a sysnand backup.

I found that the Decrypt9 in OTP helper will not restore a NAND backup made with the GW launcher. So if you used the GW launcher to make it the NAND backup should still be valid and usable with a hardmod.

You were likely using a valid backup with an outdated build of otphelper. It will spit errors... You should have instead used the latest build or used decrypt9 to restore it with a backup.... Hardmod is your only option. Sorry to hear you bricked but I'm suprised you didn't brick just updating to 4.x....

Thanks, i did a backup using GW and one during the otp process, so i have 2.

btw, the GW is 1.98GB and the one i did during the otp process is 1.69GB, is this normal?

What happened here so I can avoid doing this myself?

Was OP using the Plailect guide? Things went south at the errors restoring 9.2 part, right? Was OP doing something other than the Plailect guide here?
