Well if NAND.bin is just a binary of the 3DS system file. and there are some DS .bin files... Could they (With some editing) be used to run from A9LH? If I wasn't at work right now I would totally be messing around with this on my 3DS. If so they could be treated as a regular DS (Or more likely DSi) and then possibly modded to install a .cia equivelant. Not sure if there is a such thing as I never had a Nintendo DSi and don't know that modding scene but I will definitely do some research on the matter.

You just answered your own question really.
Hacking isn't easy, yet you expect just anyone to figure it out themselves?

@Bobesh8 and @Apache Thunder were trying, and they kinda got it to work, but they only got DS demos to work.
The ones who can probably make it possible hate piracy (but they're fine with people paying for piracy, hypocrites).
Which part of my post implied it is a question? I don't expect the majority of this forum to figure out anything. Just fed up with how many threads are created asking if its possible to play ds games without flashcart. Obviously if its possible and public it would be in a guide somewhere. Otherwise, don't ask unless you have discovered an exploit that might lead you there.

Oh yeah, I'll agree with you on that one. Seeing a lot of threads asking if DS games without a flashcart can get annoying.

Because this is the most pointless thread I have ever seen. Don't waste Devs' time. Anyone can BUY a $6 DS Flashcart.
Read my previous posts.
I know, anyone can buy a flashcart, they're dirt cheap.
That's not the point though, I dislike paying for piracy. You're either paying for the actual game or you're not.
If I'm going to give out my money, it's going to be to the one's who created the game, and not to the one's who created the flashcart.

You're really kinda missing the point. It's not about the 6 dollars, it's about supporting companies that exist for the sole purpose of profiting from piracy (or at least that's my viewpoint on it). That being said, I've already long since bitten the bullet and bought a flash cart because I know this isn't something that's viable in the near future (although I do hope that we eventually end up seeing ds stuff working without flash carts, even if it's months or years in the future).

Pretty funny how you're describing re-progamming (parts of) TWL_FIRM as simple. Believe me, if it was easy, people would have already done it.

I don't recall anyone stating it was simple, but rather it's a solution that could work.

Well the title clearly speaks of "simple thing (s)"

OP also claims that it is "easily possible".
While it may be possible, it's definitely not easy.

The people who have the capability to run DS games from the SD card w/o a flashcart aren't the people who released the methods for using flashcarts to launch DS games.

Oh, I know. I wasn't referring to Bobesh and Apache as hypocrites, they tried their best.
I was referring it to the ones who probably know how to make it possible, but don't want to work on it because they're anti-piracy.

You claimed though that they were fine with people paying for piracy, which implies that they released or supported flashcarts, which is entirely untrue.

Wasn't normmatt an Acekard developer though? I remember him posting something on the DSi thread..

*runs!*

These are old nintendo ds games you guys are talking about here. Developers made money off the games when they were relevant. Unless you are buying the games on the wii u vc i don't see how the developers that made the games are getting money from them these days.

I do understand wanting to just run the games from the home menu though which would be cool but if you guys really wanted to play ds games that bad then you probably wouldn't wait and just use whatever means to play them at the moment, be it flashcart or otherwise.

Some people don't care, and they classify piracy as piracy, no matter if the game is released in 4 months and leaked out early, or if it's 30 years old, and the dev team that made it has long since disbanded, the game is impossible to find, and ebay costs dictate that the game is worth five figures (in USD)
