Hacking What's better to use with A9LH these days, AuReiNand or CakesFW?

I set up A9Lh back when it was fairly new and AuReiNand was the only option, but it seems Cakes is a now a thing too.

To my understanding Cakes has more features, but could someone give me an idea on what it has over AuReiNand, if anything?

Cakes is useful for experimenting since you can turn off CFW patches individually, but the end-user doesn't typically need to do that. I used it when I was helping @aliaspider figure out some N3DS-related stuff for svchax, for example.

Works fine for me. I am using the 2015-07-12 nightly.

My vote goes towards AuReiNAND (even though I'm currently not using it but I'm not using Cakes either).

More user friendly, and generally safer. I'll be honest with you, when the guide switched to Cakes, people with issues started to rise (I know OTPHelper was bugged for a bit, but this has nothing to do with this), especially over at the 3dshacks subreddit. Once I helped them setup AuReiNAND, their issues disappeared.

AuReiNand is good for SysNAND CFW too. I wonder why they changed it too cakes which has more file data but less uses and abilities

The reason I saw was because "#cakey" (it's an IRC channel, made for Cakes).
I think that's a "meh" reason. I'm always on #cakey, Cakes never gets talked about on there. What I mostly see there is people working on cool new stuff for the 3DS and A9LH stuff (which is generally why I'm in that channel anyways, those kinds of things interest me).

Use this (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-3ds-multi-emunand-creator.381603/) to set up two EmuNands, one for Cakes, one for rxTools, and your sysNand for AuReiNand, I forget where I got my boot manager so I will attach it to the post. Look in the boot_config.ini for what button to press to boot your CFW.
