Hello. I am not sure if I am in the wrong section or if this question has been previously asked, (I looked on Google) but I was wondering if some or all Nintendo Zone hotspots automatically update your 3DS system when it's in sleep mode, whether or not you accept. Reason is, I have a 9.2 O3DS XL with RX Tools CFW and if I decide to take it with me while traveling or such, I don't want to find my 3DS updated to the latest firmware when I open it up again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Your 3DS will download an update to emuNAND if that's what you're using and not on the latest version. However, it won't update emuNAND unless you agree. If you do want to update emuNAND, you should do it from the System Settings.

Edit: If you're dumb enough to use sysNAND, it will download an update to that but won't update unless you agree to it on the nag.

As far as I'm aware only the Wii U forces updates but that can be stopped with tubehax DNS applied to your internet settings. Its great cause you can still go online and have updates blocked at the same time.

Alright. Thanks. Obviously the update will download, but will prompt you to install, with choosing cancel or yes. I'll wait to see if more people have an answer.
Theres a certain button configuration (I forgot what it was exactly) but it allows you to go into a seperate menu to install the update, once your there and you exit it will delete the update download and wipe away the nagging message until its downloaded again.

Yeah I know obviously not to update sysNAND. I don't update emuNAND either since I spoof my firmware to play online games like Mario Kart 7.

Oh okay. That's good to know. I really don't mind declining the update nag as many times as it appears, so I will just keep it there.

Yeah. That cia file. I don't want to update my emuNAND anyways, but thanks for trying to help. :)
I don't know of anybody else deliberately keeping their emuNAND unupdated. I'm 99% sure that whatever you are doing will either work in the latest emuNAND or there is an alternative way to do it. Not updating your emuNAND is a little like being offered a lift but choosing to take the bus instead (inconveniencing yourself for no benefit). I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely unless there's nobody else wanting to do what you're doing.

I understand. I think what you are asking is that if I update my emuNAND by installing cia files, correct? Kinda like firmware spoofing. Cuz I do that to keep exploits and still be able to access online.
