Faster than what? Booting OFW/vanilla sysNAND? I guess it would be a bit quicker in terms of when the backlights come on.
Sorry for being so vague, I meant will the backlight turn on faster than using Aureinand with A9LH does currently

Probably, since it'd be A9LH itself doing it, but it doesn't really matter when the backlights come on, if you're not using some sort of a boot menu or recovery menu (i.e. if you're just booting into CFW, it doesn't matter when the backlights come on)

If the screeninit is skipped, we have regular a9lh yes? You guys can init the screen after key reading for boot selection to show up? That would have best of both worlds!

I would think it'd be no different, yes.

I'm not the one coding any of this, but I don't see why it couldn't be done that way until they figure out how to fix the 3d bug (if they don't just turn the screens off altogether before booting into CFW).

Well it's been a lot of work, but thanks to all of the hard work done we now have screeninit integrated into the stage2 payload

sorry for crappy camera work but it was all I could do... this is currently being cleaned up and then there'll be a pull request to delebile's repo :)

So maybe they've solved it by figuring out screen de-init already, but if not, a workaround would be:

-if hotkey not held, don't init screen, boot with current settings.
-if hotkey held, init screen, allow settings to be changed and/or run decrypt9 or whatever, and then... reboot, back to start.

...yay no 3D bug.

Cakes is slightly ahead of the curve, it has the screen de-init stuff (but no code's or release's been pushed yet). Shouldn't be hard to get regular Reinand showing its splash, then turning off the screens for those who want it.

Nice I can have Maki back on my screen at Boot. :toot:

Question: If I downgraded my o3ds without formatting and went through all the steps to install A9LH is there a chance that the ironhax update block could be bypassed? I just personally prefer it as an entry point and with recent developments ensuring a huge amount of control of the 3ds I would like to know if it would be possible to keep ironhax as a future HB entry point?

That makes no sense whatsoever. There is no entry point if you do a9lh. You are already 'entered' as soon as you turn the power on. for almost everything else that doesn't come as a .cia, just launch hblauncher_loader from the home screen to load whatever your boot.3dsx is (HBL, gridlauncher, ctrbootmanager, etc...). Using Ironhax is a complete waste of time if you have a9lh.

Yeah that's true, I mostly posted that comment to see if older entry points could be saved for future use as a back up HB entry point but now I realise that even if we ever get stuck with vanilla FW nintendo would probably guarantee that these entry points are blocked with every FW update. Hindsight is 20/20

I will try to add screeninit to my arm9 bootloader, together with some additional configuration(like start this without screen, start this with screen init), after they released the screen init source. Also I will try to fix the bugs some people have while using my bootloader(atm its hard to debug the most stuff, because the only way to debug it is to log everything to a file, but this way its not possible to debug file opening problems)
