Noish. Correct me if im wrong, but if you have a hardmod you can update then downgrade to whatever you have a backup on, but you couldn't downgrade to anything lower than 5.0 if you were on 5.0+, because of changes to boot.

No downgrade yet. AFAIK, iAqua, nobody has been able to replicate that one guy's method after he posted that he could downgrade. Just a few more bricked Wii U's after trying. If I'm incorrect please point me to the forum/thread so I won't mislead anyone else.

Smea isn't who I was talking about; someone else said they did quite a few months ago. But yeah he proved it can be done.

I thought it was an SD card reader soldered to the NAND. Was it a small circuit board?

Yes I did and there seemed to be another circuit board besides the card reader, but if I'm wrong I apologise.

Cool Must've missed that the first time. EPROM sounds mildly familiar but I don't know particularly much about memory flashing so I just try to go by what I can see

Yeah me too. A red circuit board at the end of the black and white cable.........I'm sure if its not an EPROM someone with more experience of these things will let us know....

The extra circuitry may have been developed from the circuit board Pluto demonstrated at the conference late last year....I guess????

Onion_Knight was reporting in the GX2 thread that the elf compiled by Scuba156 isn't working on 5.3.2 right now. I think I found another one. I'm a little apprehensive to throw up a new DefinitivePackage without testing it myself first though.
