I'm not sure. I known there's people on eBay that do it. You could always ask around at your local electronics shops

I'm sure I could do it but I've never take apart the top of a N3DS XL... maybe not the best idea :(.

I'd be apprehensive about those ribbon cables. But I guess if you're not detaching the top from the base it would be fine.
Nope. All you're doing is removing the top shell part which all you have to do is unscrew on the front side (4 screws). The soldering part is the hard part for most people since the solder points a kinda small

I'll look around. I'll probably get the Fates N3DS for now while I look for a fix and keep it as a display (it's the Majora's Mask N3DS).

I'd offer to fix it for you, but I do not have the small wires it needs. Sadly I'd have to buy them on ebay which I hate doing because they are always the wrong size. Try to find someone thats good at solder jobs, or get a normal new 3ds xl and swap the gold covers on to it. that way you have one you can sell for a decent amount for parts, and the other will be just like new. Gamestop sells used n3ds xl systems for $175 if you like that idea.

I could do the job as I have lots of experience in soldering. But I'm a new member here, so I know I don't appear that trustworthy. You can look at my work on ModRetro Forums (I go by Blargaman91).
