But What ever happens if it becomes corrupted and the unbrickable application can't boot? Can a NAND backup fix it?

We can generate FIRM XORpads(it's pretty easy), we can then reinject a9lh with a hardmod

initial bootcode + firm loader => permanent, unbrickable CFW

Wow so great I guess I'll be able to save a few money, thanks to them. Unfortunately I was to lazy to hardmod my n3ds today, I have to do it tomorrow !!

I did the whole thing successfully on 2 o3dses without hardmod. I know I can do this just fine on my n3ds too but... I think I'll wait a little more, lol

Yeah, I didn't hardmod my o3ds and did it fine. Honestly, I think I might try it on my N3DS but I'd rather someone else mess with my nand to get it to work on 2.2. If someone can properly mess with my nand for me then I'll inject it and all that jazz. If it doesn't work, then I'll get a hardmod. If it does work, then I'll be able to install arm9loaderhax and never have to worry about needing a hardmod ever again.

So for n3ds we can't downgrade to 4.5 via gateway i guess.

Just wait a little bit. They're about to get OTP dumping working via spider. They have arm11 and arm9, now they just have to write the otp dumping part.

I ask because I am having 100% failure rate over about ten tries, where the bottom screen just gets the dreaded "an error has occurred", followed by a non-booting O3DS. (Yes, I've removed the SD card and it still doesn't boot.) I am using MenuHax --> SysUpdater.3dsx directly.

Other recommendations? I have both OoT and CN.

I injected fbi into Health and Safety, then booted minipasta, installed sysupdater then downgraded.

I personally used rxtools through the spider exploit. Pasta mode and Cia sysupdater down to 4.x then to 2.1
