Do you have a case on? It didn't work for me until I removed it. Place it directly in center of phone and slowly move it

Will it work for 6.0 (android) phones ? Also, does this means piracy, or do I need an amiibo to create a working tag ?

If you have Marshmallow, you have to manually give TagMo permission to access storage.
To do so, go to

Settings > Apps > TagMo > Permissions > Storage.

Thanks for the tutorial =D

I get an error when trying to load the tag file. "Error: Invalid file size. was expecting 532"

Fix: To get the keys loaded I had to download the pastebin key file, and use the load keys option. Not that load tag option like in the video.

I had to turn on the NFC feature in my phone settings. It was off by default.

Fix: Settings > More > NFC (swipe switch to on)
Note: it takes a minute to actually turn on. The NFC options will gray out until the feature loads and turns on. If NFC is turned on your phone will make a noise when the nfc feature detects a nfc tag. (Moto X 2nd gen)

It does not have a case
The guy below you said he had to turn on NFC in settings, have you tried that?

Did this solve your invalid tag issue? You probably have a bad tag, it should be 540 bytes.

It's on, I made sure it's on. I think the nfc in the phone is bad cause I tried other nfc programs and nothing is picking up the card from that phone. Except my Wii u can see the card (nothing on it) phone can't for some odd reason.

Awesome vid tutorial, thanks DarkFlare. Does anyone know if these tags can be overwritten or changed later after an amiibo has been written to them?

Any idea why Amiibos scanned using the app are 532 bytes? Can't currently check if they work since I have no tags yet </3

The tagmo app defines the read size to be 532B (TAG_FILE_SIZE = 532). The last 8 bytes of all NTAG215s are password-related and are writable only. Trying to dump them results in zeros. So to make the dump to 540B, you just need to add 16 zeros to the end of the bin file using hex editors such as HxD.
