Hopes up for a way to write amiibos to 216 tags not trying to be mean or start anything but when the guy claiming to be able to do it has to ask if the tags he's looking to order will work or not something seems a lil fishy

To be fair, it's pretty annoying to see "oh hey I have something maybe I'll release it or not you know what no I won't".
(This does not include videos or other provided proof, just to keep Smealum/Hykem out of that categorization)

Ninja edit: Also, my tags are finally "Out for Delivery" after 8 days of nothing. Slow, but it's getting here.

I couldnt care less if he releases it as there's no real advantage to 216 tags and I'm perfectly happy ordering the tags that are known to work just seems odd to me that he claims to be able to use 216 tags but still had to ask if the tags he was about to buy were the right ones if he can use 216 tags it wouldent matter right? I guess my point was I'd like a proof of concept

to be fair im skeptical leaning on the trolling side seems more like satire than anything else, but tbh i don't think anyone should really care 215 tags are cheaper than 216 tags so its really no that helpful even if its not just trolling

ps i thought he was trolling from the offset he has repeatedly stated the same thing over and over waiting for reactions, and as the other guy said the whole "help me buy the right tags" despite claiming being able to convert 216 tags into 215 tags.....in which case why would he care if he bought 216 tags

Nah I get you, your point is valid, I just dont see why there is always someone who will bring this type of thing into a thread. If it isnt in the Wii U Section, its in the 3DS Section

Well it's easier to just buy NTAG215's since i've ran out of 216's to use. I was just using up the rest of my 216's. But wouldn't it make more sense to buy the correct tags if I could choose one or the other?

It wouldn't make a difference at all if you can use both either would be just a good

I have two and only two amiibos, they are new in box and im not opening them. Your tool would enable people like me as well.

Yes, but the process is a bit trickier with 216's.

The main problem is that ntag215 have been in decline. Virtually like gold dust here in the UK. Hence, the problems with availability. Ntag213 is great for small storage or a URL redirect for advertising. Ntag216 offers better storage to price ratio. Then ntag215 in the middle got neglected. It was priced too near the ntag216 with more bytes, and to costly for small advertising compared to the ntag213. So the ntag215 is not easily available. Can't seem to locate any sellers in the UK.

So you can understand why people would look for a way to make use of the much easier to obtain ntag216s.

Well, tags came in and it worked exactly as expected. Faster than I thought, even.
...now I just need something for them to be affixed to that's nicer than the default sticker back =P

Wait, what do you mean with 504 bytes writable? I know that's what NTAG215's have but aren't amiibo dumps 540 bytes? Or am I wrong? I bought them from the link in the video:

I only made a tool to use it with the 216 tags because i didn't have any 215's. Using it with 216's is also a lot trickier so it's easy to do it with 215's if you have them.

NTAG215 is 540 bytes, 504 writable. Dumps are complete, so they are 540.

is the process of installing the tool on an android intrusive? that's a weird question i know, i know little about android. My partner got one for work that is heavily monitored and he isn't supposed to use for anything other than work. so i guess my question is, is this something i can do on his phone without it showing up on his account or raise any flags at his work?

My best guess is no. The people at the job can just look at his system log and see that he installed the app on his device, and it will even display the times that he installed it. I wouldn't think there's a way to bypass all that.

Guys, near me I can only find ntag216 or lower than 215, but not 215 anywhere! why?? haha
They tld that we can "hide" the extra bytes from a ntag216... someone know how to?

Is there any way that Nintendo can patch non authorized amiibos in the future? I know this is a stupid question, I could've sworn I read this somewhere before. Wouldn't want to make these then suddenly not be able to use them. Which is why I stopped looking at amiiqo.

Are all cards the same? Can Nintendo check from a list of actually manufactured amiibo ids?

nope all tags have a unique ID but tbh i'm kinda doubtful nintendo will bother unless they had already kept a record of all the amiibo's they have produced or know for certain what range of serials they have i.e 1234567-2345678 and blacklist everything else, but i honestly doubt they will bother, most amiibo collectors do so for the figure or because they think keeping them sealed will make them millionaires in 10 years
