Yeah , I can ge into emunand this way. However,

Changing the theme on emunand somehow changes it on sysnand as well. Then menuhax wont trigget after reboot.
Unlink your Nands. There is no other way to remove menuhax from your emunand while keeping it on sysnand.

I made a mistake here. I uninstalled MenuHax, then instead of using TinyFormat on sysnand, I did on Emunand. Now I can't install menuhax on sysnand :( What do I do?

EDIT: got it working somehow, thanks all

No problem. Use EmuNAND9 to clone your sysnand to emunand. Then use tinyformat to format your sysnand.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Remember that TinyFormat formats whichever NAND you are running it from. If you run it from sysnand, you format sysnand. If you run it from emunand, you format emunand.

Should I format sysnand now after formatting emunand? I mean, they are unlinked now. Also, while I'm in sysnand, the homebrew apps aren't working. For example if I try to launch FBI it says something like 're-download this from the eshop'

Well you've already formatted emunand, so if you format sysnand before recreating your emunand then you'll lose everything you already had installed. You need to recreate your emunand as a clone of sysnand to preserve everything first, then format sysnand to unlink NANDs. Then you'll end up with a plain 9.2 sysnand and an emunand with all your CIAs, saves, eShop purchases etc.

Your homebrew CIAs aren't working in sysnand because they need CFW to run. The only reason you can see them is because they were installed while the NANDs were linked. Once you've formatted sysnand they will disappear from sysnand and run from emunand.

Assuming you are trying to launch TinyFormat.cia in SysNAND: You need to boot into a SysNAND CFW like pastacfw/rxtools pasta mode/cakes sysnand. Also remember that booting a CFW into sysnand might end up triggering your menuhax, so you should hold your trigger button as you launch the CFW's sysnand mode to override menuhax launching boot.3dsx instead of home menu.

Is it okay keeping things as they are?
Ran TinyFormat on emunand, so Sysnand and Emunand are unlinked. It seems like too much work formatting Sysnand now too

Well you don't need to format sysnand if you don't want to since as you say they are already unlinked. However, it's probably not the best idea to leave sysnand setup with CIAs, custom themes etc installed. You want your sysnand to look as vanilla as possible so you will know for sure that you're in emunand.

Tbh it didn't even work, I got a weird error while trying to install CIAs using FBI on emunand.
So I decided to start from scratch, and formatted Sysnand. But now I'm getting the same error in FBI it says:
DESCRIPTION_INVALID_COMMAND (0x2f)
Any idea? totally lost on this one

So you're trying to run FBI under sysnand now, right? Did you boot pasta first?

I had the same problem. Try minipasta instead.

Thanks, it worked, almost has it working now.

Cool thanks, I'll try and report back. I got the exact same problem on FBI

I saw your guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...luding-emunand-coldboot-cia-installer.405589/ and I got up to the final part. But when I start Reinand, I get the splashscreen, then it freezes.

EDIT: did not have the firmware.bin file
