Hey, I have a New 3ds on 9.2 and I'm trying to install reinand, following this video :

Anyway, I have Pasta CFW right now on my N3ds so I do have homebrew launcher. Is there a way for me to install menuhax without using the browser hax thing? Thanks

Well you need some method of launching hax in order to run the menuhax installer. Browser hax is just one of several methods for doing so. Is there a particular reason why you don't want to use it?

Not really, just can't find a guide for it. And I have ninjahax, is that okay?

Oh I see. Yes absolutely. I did a full Reinand CFW setup on my n3ds using Cubic Ninja without using browser hax once :) As fate6 said, any method of getting to hbl is fine. Most of the tutorials say to use browserhax because they assume you have no other way of running hbl.

Great, thanks guys.
Last question: Just to make sure, playing online on Emunand is totally safe right?

One thing to bear in mind is that if you save Ninjhax to the cubic ninja save, it will only work under the FW version for which it was installed. For example if you install it by scanning the 9.2 QR code then it will only work under sysnand. If you want to use cubic ninja to enter hbl under emunand after updating it then you will have to re-scan the QR code for the FW version of the updated emunand. A better solution though would be to instal the hbl launcher CIA in emunand and keep your cubic ninja cart with the Ninjhax payload for FW 9.2 in case you ever need to access hbl from sysnand.

Cool thanks. Just tried installing Menuhax , but I got this error:

Any idea what went wrong? Lol

Ahh you're using Ninjhax 1 which does not provide the services needed for menuhax installation. See here:

https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax/issues/49

You just need to delete cubic ninja save game, and reinstall Ninjhax 2.5.

Edit - ahh you worked it out ;)

Yeah, manaeged to get it working after all.
I have emunand now, when I enter system settings it says Rei 9.0.0.20U , but once I go back to the home menu its like I've been kicked out of emunand. I mean, after checking again the version number goes back to 9.0.0.20U.
Is it normal?

Yes, exiting system settings reboots the console so you end up back in sysnand. If you setup menuhax in sysnand to autoboot Reinand then exiting system settings will cause menuhax to re-trigger and boot you back into Reinand.

As long as system settings shows the Rei string before the version, you are in emunand and can safely update.

Check the menuhax section of this tutorial:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...luding-emunand-coldboot-cia-installer.405589/

It explains how to set up the keypress to bypass menuhax. So for example you can set up your L button to disable menuhax to get to sysnand if you press it, but if you just let it boot without pressing L then menuhax will trigger automatically and boot you into emunand.

Here is the relevant section from that tutorial:

  • This time choose MenuHax and install it. If you want to switch on your N3DS and have it boot into EmuNAND automatically, choose Type2.
    • I strongly recommend that, as it makes things way more convenient. If for whatever reason you don't want that, read the following explanation:
      • In short, Type1 will mean you have to hold a specific button to coldboot CtrBootManager and if you don't hold it, SysNAND will boot. Type2 is the opposite - CtrBootManager will coldboot if you do not hold a specific button and only boot SysNAND if you hold the button during boot. If you want to switch on your N3DS and automatically be in EmuNAND, use Type2. I recommend Type2 and I will write the following parts of the tutorial as if you chose Type2. If you want Type1, just keep in mind that you will have to hold your button every time you boot your device
  • You will have to set a button now that bypasses MenuHax, just press it and touch the bottom screen to confirm. This will set up the coldboot now.
    • If you don't hold the button you just set during booting, MenuHax will initiate.
    • If you hold it while booting, SysNAND will load.

Did it, but thats how it goes now:
Starting up the system -> Menuhax triggers automatically -> I start Reinand -> Seems like its trying to start Menuhax again -> 3DS gets stuck and I need to shut it down.

Booting to sysnad works fine, and I can get into HBL. Seems like its just reinand not working suddenly

Sounds like you may have installed menuhax in emunand as well, causing it to get into a loop. You need to get into emunand using another entrypoint from sysnand, then change your emunand theme to get rid of menuhax from emunand. Then reboot the console and it should work.

Yeah , I can ge into emunand this way. However,

Changing the theme on emunand somehow changes it on sysnand as well. Then menuhax wont trigget after reboot.

It looks like you don't have unlinked NANDs.
After you unlink them you won't have any problems having different theme in sysNAND - emuNAND.
Most of us have a different theme between the NANDs so we can easily identify where we are :P

You can format either sysNAND or emuNAND in order to unlink them.

I say you use tinyformat so your sd card won't be formatted as well.
