Edit: stupid typo in title. I cannot fix it.

Hello,
I found this on a Japanese rom site.

It is a tool for converting DS games to cia, made by 7zero.
The site provided Japanese and English version of the program.
Since it's from a rom site, I won't say where it is from.
I mirrored the English version here:
https://mega.nz/#!EEJjADjY!OKZjniMCs09MUArribzm2H5TGLai2395cJmg4fs7EGA

I am unable to test it now, because I won't have my 3DS for the next 2 days.
So, it's untested by me.

If you try it, please report back.

I'll try to install the really tiny CIA, I'm just making an emuNAND backup before just in case :P
EDIT: and I'll also try to"convert" a different ROM, and compare the MD5, to see if it's always the same file (fake) or not (maybe real).

Installed the cia generated from a EU Kirby Super Star Ultra rom to emuNAND... nothing happened. Not even a "new software to unwrap".
I was also able to reboot, so if it breaks things, nothing vital it seems.

Okay, it's fake, I tried 2 to "convert" 2 different ROMs, and the output file is exactly the same. However, it really looks like it's a "real" CIA file by looking at it through an hex editor, but it's more than likely some program that wipes your SD or your NAND.

I hope no one got over hyped from this thread.

I decompiled it, look at this:
this.progressBar1.Value = 50;
Thread.Sleep(1000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 0;
Thread.Sleep(1000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 10;
Thread.Sleep(1000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 15;
Thread.Sleep(2000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 20;
Thread.Sleep(3000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 60;
Thread.Sleep(1500);
this.progressBar1.Value = 90;
Thread.Sleep(1000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 80;
Thread.Sleep(2000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 95;
Thread.Sleep(4000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 99;
Thread.Sleep(5000);
this.progressBar1.Value = 100;
this.saveFileDialog1.ShowDialog();

What a shame that it does not work.

DID YOU GUYS REALLY THINK IT'D WORK

fail.

I think this is that tool for creating a loader channel like how someone made for gba/dsi cia files to work on emunand.

Actually, by looking a bit further into the file... It's the boot NTR CIA. Really. The guy made a "bootNTR.cia creator". Oh well.

Compare if you don't believe me (the output.cia file is the "Converted ROM", the BootNTR.cia is the latest version of boot NTR).

Not really. It is already possible to launch any DS game with a 10€ flashcart, so no hype there.
But still, it doesn't hurt to try on an emuNAND, and if it works it's still good to take.

So..what you're saying is that...

It's worthless.

Anyways...Yeah. We have flashcarts, and those will be infinitely better than wasting space on an SD Card anyways. Because, we'll have more space on a SD card on a flash cart..so..in reality..

This program would have been worthless even if it did work!

Guess thread can be closed, since the program does not work, and, who cares anyways, we have flash carts. Nothing towards the OP, since, he didn't know. :)
