Hey guys/gals,

I've been out of the loop for a while and I just wanted to find out what the safest way to downgrade my N3DS is. It's on 9.9

Thanks

That's not a really safe system/firmware to downgrade. About 20% chance of brick.
Safer options will likely emerge if you wait.

Not at all, I downgraded both of my 9.9 3ds's on the first try. Its the idiots who are 12 years old and cant put correct files in the correct place on the SD card who brick their systems.

That's some sort of logical fallacy but I don't know the name. :P

Anyway, I've been following the downgrade scene since it's inception and there is a very real brick risk, even if you do everything correctly. Especially for N3DS.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/ <-- the poll on that thread is very telling of the risk.

You can be your own believer man. The stuff people ask on this site can be found with a google search under 30 seconds. All the posts have become "hur dur im a noob spoon feed me downgrade".

I'm neither a believer on non-believer -- I have no horse in this race. I just don't like people to go into the risk of downgrading thinking they're invincible. Downgrading is dangerous as hell. That's a fact.

Well yeah but you run the risk of doing it, people complain on here when they brick like its the developers fault.

That may prevent a brick, but this failsafe also yields a 10.5 system. Which, to a dedicated pirate, is almost as bad. :P

Well a 10.5 3ds is better than no 3ds. :3

Which can be downgraded via HARDMOD, which is the safest way to to downgrade anyhow. Hardmod = No BRICK RISK.
