How many people just used their homebrew SD card to do this? i mean of course you need homebrew, but i mean like the one you keep everything on

I got the MK7, LM2, and POM .cias to install using my primary SD (the one w/ homebrew and everything). If you're having trouble loading the custom FBI, use Menuhax, and keep attempting to load it. You'll get in eventually.

You can only install legit .CIAs, brav.

If you're using the unstable FBI, keep restarting and opening the app until you see "Done." after a line of code. Then, press A, and pick out a LEGIT cia (https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/40878s/3ds_legit_cia_list/) from the directory, and it should install.

Legit CIAs are games that come preinstalled on consoles that come bundled with preinstalled games, the preinstalled game is a Legit CIA. (At least I think that's how it works)

.cias are installable game files. When you download a game from the eshop, that is a .cia file. However, doing that links the .cia to your NNID, and only you can download it. Legit .cias are game files of pre-installed games from bundles, making them not tied to the NNID. This means anyone can install them. If you mean unsigned by "normal", then yes. But you need something like Pasta CFW
