I've been having some issues with launching emuNAND on my 3DS.
After unlinking and updating emuNAND, when I try to boot into rxTools emuNAND, it says "Updating HOME Menu management information" then once it's done what it's doing, it throws me an error telling me to shut off my system and contact Nintendo.
One of the things I'm wondering is if it's both possible and safe to try and boot into recovery mode to try updating emuNAND like that to fix the issue.
Other than that, I'm just wondering what I should do, and if theres a way I can fix this without having to restore my NAND backup and set up emuNAND all over again, because that was a real pain in the ass to do.

If it helps, my sysNAND version is 9.2.0-20U, downgraded from 10.3.0-28U and I'm using an o3DS.

I fixed all my atrocious spelling errors. Hopefully the post will be easier to read.
That's why you had to make a backup using emunand tool before updafing it...
Under normal circumstances, I would've, but last night I had been trying to set up rxTools for quite a while, and by the time I got emuNAND working, I was eager to get it completely set up as quick as I could.
and now im paying for it

Were you using Menuhax? If so remove it from sysnand and try using browserhax to boot emunand. If it still errors out, you'll probably have to try again with setting up emunand,

I wasn't using any hax (like, I wasn't using the Homebrew Launcher) to set up emuNAND, I was doing everything from the web browser.

Probably out of luck then since it doesn't sound like you were ever able to boot emunand after the update. Probably only solution is to recreate emunand from GW/Decrypt9 and try again.

Though once you get your emunand unlinked before updating, worth probably grabbing an emunand backup there, then trying the update again.

I set up emuNAND and updated again, but the exact same thing happened when I attempted to update. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Updating emuNAND on my sister's 2DS via System Settings worked, but it just doesn't wanna work correctly for me.

So to be sure I got this right, you're able to create a fresh emunand that boots fine, but then after completing a system update, it reboots to the Home Menu screen and errors out?

I'm assuming you're not using TubeHax DNS or anything.

The other option you can try is downloading the 10.3.0-28 for your device and using sysupdater in emunand to apply the 10.3. If that errors out, I'd start looking towards the SD card itself. At least that would give you an offline update.

Edit: When you say not using HBL, how exactly do you boot RXTools? (I know you said via browser, but there are several browser based hacks)

Edit2: Also which version of RXTools are you using? (assuming nightly but I could be wrong)

It appears to update fine, but when I try to re-enter emuNAND once the update completes, it shows "Preparing HOME Menu management information." and when it's done that, crashes like it did last time.
I'd heard something about rxTools working like shit for people using microSD cards + microSD to SD card adapters, could that maybe be an issue?

My guess is if you can't get the offline version working, to look at your SD. You're obviously on a similar internet connection since one updated fine. I'd take a look though, because SD adapters can be finicky sometimes. I'm assuming though the emunand when first created works properly?

Yeah, it works fine. The only issue is that it takes a slightly longer time to load all the icons for my apps and stuff, which I don't really care too much about.

What version do you use of rxTools? Tried 12-05 version? That is the December 5th. Seem to be rocksolid for most people including me.

Whichever version of rxTools is included in AidanLuma's CFW kit. rxTools with Pasta. I have no idea what version it is exactly, it doesn't seem to mention it anywhere in the CFW kit.

o3ds or new 3ds?
rx tools doesn't have support for 10.3 on new 3ds yet
you can update to 9.5 through sysupdater. cia and patch Nver cia from 10.3 and use HBL.cia with Hans to enter the eshop using the function fw spoof on

good luck

Do you got a solution for this Problem? Friend got the same one...
Not yet. I'm gonna try and update to 10.3 (and then 10.4 if updating to 10.3 works) using SysUpdater. I haven't been able to do that yet because I can't get FBI to install anything when launched through the Homebrew Launcher, using Sliderhax. I'd inject FBI but the guide I was using is saying I should try to install FBI through the Homebrew Launcher since I have web browser access, and can launch Sliderhax.

Same here, but if i hold L or R while launcching RX from the broswer ( depends on your stuff ) RXTools boot option comes up and if i select to boot to the emunand by pressing Y it works. From the browser still freezes, hope this helps.

I tried that multiple times when I had the issue, and the same exact thing happened.

Still haven't updated yet, but I'm gonna try to remember to backup my NAND and then update when I get home.

You mean you were able to boot into emunand with this method?
