I found your post very useful. I think I may take that information to a Spanish speaking forum I visit. Here at gbatemp there is a big confusion about the different kinds of exploits and what can be done with them even though sometimes you´ve got first hand information from the developers in your mother tongue. The confusion is (probably) even bigger at non English speaking forums. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation and for your time :grog:.

IOSU has own Kernel Acess because of this dont need to be released a 5.5.0 Kernel Exploit.
When hykem release IOSU we wil have (up to 5.5.0) full wiiu access.
IOSU wasnt patched on 5.5.1 and we just need a entrypoint and IOSU will work.
People dont understand. lol

Hykem sure is quiet, ever since he THOUGHT the other group was "taking over". He seemed pretty disappointed at the time. He's either working really hard over there, or taking a crap

A lot of 5.5.0 users are gonna lose their patience, when new game updates arrive for online games, and they can't play online.

By the end of the month we should at least be able to hear from him, and maybe the release will happen too. But that's just speculation.

can IOSU change the fact that splatoon doesn't work with loadiine yet? maybe even play online?

Perhaps. Keep in mind that IOSU access means total WiiU access which ultimately mean: EmuNAND (like on the 3DS). Which means, you'll have your SysNAND at 5.5.0 and your EmuNAND (Emulated NAND) at whatever latest version of the WiiU there is. So, if there is an EmuNAND, yes, you will get online access. But first, we need the IOSU access. One thing at the time.

EDIT: And it might or might not be with Loadiine. Depends if with EmuNAND we'll be able to install/inject games likes we do with the 3DS or we'll need a loader such as Loadiine. I'm not qualified enough to tell you how it will work.

Bermiokoa ? :D

Minor Success!!

So I was able to compile and locally host Yellows8's browser exploit on my 5.4 WiiU and I was able to use a compiled binary payload for the OSDriver kernel exploit (5.3.2 version worked fine) and it ran successfully! I'm mostly interested in spoofing right now so I can install some game updates and get back online, so my question is, where can I find source for Wupinstaller to build a binary payload or how can I convert the payload.php file from the Wupinstaller website to a binary format?

There's no reason to keep trying the .mp4 hosted on wupinstaller because it's a straight compile of Matt/Mn1's exploit. If it doesn't work outright, it will never work for your console.
Also for what it's worth, every app available for 5.3.2 works from 5.4 except for Loadiine. That will need to be ported, and in it's current revision, that isn't as easy as it will be with a future revision.

Thanks for the link! I was able to find this yesterday after some searching but I had 2 issues with getting it to compile into a suitable binary payload:

1. I had to cut out the kexploit from the code (not needed as I am successfully running that in a separate step before trying to actually trigger wupinstaller) due to size constraints (as Yellows8's exploit has a ~16K limit for the payload file).
2. I was only able to get the code to compile with my custom Makefile after commenting out some lines that were erring out. It kept throwing "error: void value not ignored as it ought to be" on the "err += OSDynLoad_FindExport..." lines in loader.c (I'm using the powerpc-eabi-gcc compiler from DevKitPro/ppc on Windows). When I ran the exploit with this bin (after successfully running the kexploit), I get a gray screen, but then the system freezes and I have to hard power down and restart.

I noticed that wupinstaller.com went down for a bit earlier this morning. Were you perhaps updating payloads or something?

disc drive is also faster lol, but yeah if your up to it just try it i guess not sure if it will work since the updates and such or how the network code goes to get the updates.
I was just curious.
I can't test it because I didn't spoof my Wii since no one nows the consequences.
But thx for your answer :)
