Loadiine hasn't been updated for it yet, but the userland exploit is now public for 5.4.0, and the kernel exploit from 5.3.2 works for 5.4.0, so basically everything is out there right now.

Forgive my persistence but if the userspace is the annoying little brother and the IOSU is the buff, jock older brother, can't we at least be the geeky middle brother until we get the jock older brother's hand-me-downs?

That's kind of weird, and I don't think any confirmation of this analogy would help you understand it. (not that I understand) but I know this wouldn't help.

No one wants to release the kernel exploit that works on 5.5.0 until it either gets patched out or if Nintendo just kills support for the Wii U altogether so no.

First 6 digits of the serial numbers our Mario Kart 8 bundle is the same as the one reported as 5.4 on that wiki page. Ended up with 5.5 and extra Nintendo Land (!!!) instead

Wii u is end of life anyway they should just release it u won't be seeing many new console made with fw past 5.5.0 or games.

Well, let's just say that in late 2016 we reach firmware 6.5.0 and the kernel exploit wasn't patched yet we'd still be waiting, and since Hykem seems to have just vanished (10 days since he was here last) we could be waiting a year or more. I just want emulators and Caffeine.

I think a lot of people would really enjoy emulators and caffeine as well (myself included) but unfortunately, like you said, Hykem seems to have disappeared. But we for sure know that Loadiine is working on 5.5 and "old school" games do work with Loadiine. Obviously if your looking for other emulators that's different but the snes - n64 games work. I'm just saying it would be nice to have while we wait for IOSU is all.

I really just don't care about Loadiine at all really, as I own all 6 of the WII U games I actually want. I really want Caffeine and the like because my favorite part about hacking on the Original Wii was Riivolution. All the Smash and Mario Kart mods made those games last longer and feel fresher, not to mention being able to customize things to my liking and make new things is always fun. And as for emulators, I really just enjoy the gamepad support, and hope we could see an HD emulator for things like DS and N64. But unfortunately all the children here just want "FREE GAEMEZ SOS I CAN BE A SQUED KID IN SPLOTOON"

MrBean35000vr was saying he was making a wii u custom track but it was dropped.

I really need to work on better tools for that, Rean's taking the initiative though, and sounds like Bean and chadderz might be too
