Yeah, Git sucks. After "viewing" the file, just right click view raw and save that. It probably doesn't matter much with the LUA though as it is a plain text file. (I'm not sure if it cares about Windows versus *nix line endings though.) Also, you can just download the whole thing as a zip file which works fine here.
what ? but how do i download the file ???i downloaded the zip and i looked everywhere there is no index.lua file anywhere in that zip file
and yeah i did the view raw thing for the .smdh and .3dsx files and it worked to download those files but there is no view raw option for the index.lua file, try to download it and see if you can get it because i can't

right click does not have that option just standard chrome browser options

Got it working in the first try with OP tutorial.
Everything went 100% fine with O3DS and a 4gb SD Card, don't need to format sysnand before or anything.

Thanks!

Kernel version apparently (look at the LUA file.) 2 is the major version and 46 is the minor version. This is what it uses to get your system version with 2.46 being 9.2. I suspect this is definitely not perfect, but it does at least mean it confirms one of the most important aspects of the downgrade process.

Tried all possible things that came to my mind with the dbs, title and exdata folders without any success for now ! No Mii on Mii Maker, no Mii Plaza data, no game statistics, nothing seems to work. The strange thing is also, that only 1 Game is listened in my eShop that I can redownload. What happened to all the other games that I have bought ? They must be tracked some kind in me eShop for sure, but can't redownload them & themes also gone. Anyone any hints how to get the already bought stuff back ?

Edit : The only way to make the SD Card backup to work is to go back to 10.3 I think.

FWIW I finally got my downgrade to go through after biting the bullet and formatting my N3DS through System Settings before retrying.
I technically followed a pastebin guide almost identical to this one, but I used julian's sysUpdater from page 95.

If you're desperate and can live with losing your Play Coins and Streetpass Plaza progress, backup all the files on your SD card and format that bitch. Just don't forget to start back at the very top of the guide.

Worked! N3ds 9.9-E to 9.2-E. Did a update to 10.3 and factory reset before! And took a fresh sd card formated with sdformatter. It worked with menu hax on the first try. No single problem. Cfw works, gba works!
Gateway with 3dsx didn't work, so I did a Nand backup with cubic ninja cia and qr code!

I guess ill update, one question though, its ok to update with browserhax and menuhax installed right? No bricks?

It shouldn't, because HomeMenuHax uses a theme exploit and BrowserHax it's not a problem. However I am not informed enough to give you a solid yes/no, someone confirm this please. I think that an update will be safe.

Well... I've reached the sysupdater app and it appeared to me to press A to update, Y to downgrade and B to exit... But the buttons dont answer my call... The only button that responds is the power button...

I dont know what I have done wrong )=
It froze, you can just restart and try again.

Yes, updating is fine with MenuHax installed, but you'll have to install it all over again to be able to use it. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's all installed to your SD Card anyway (no expert, just had to update my system multiple times during this for softbricks)

Just downgraded 2 N3DS :)

Details for both of them:

Firmware: 10.3.0-28E
Misc.: One 3DS formatted, One 3DS not formatted. Used seperate SD(no name, no brand basically a blank black card) for the Downgrade.
Hax used: Menuhax/OOt3DHax/Browserhax

Problems: Getting stuck on "Title Exception"-Error
Solution: After countless tries switched the SD over to a Kingston 4GB Class 4. Downgrade worked almost instantly (2 tries tops) on both N3DS using Menuhax. Used the same SD in both 3DS only switching out the N3DS-Folder

Firmware after Downgrade: 9.2.0-20E
Conclusion: If you get stuck on the Title Exception Error try switching the SD it might already fix your issue.

Got rxTools CFW setup took me ages and i got the 2nd 3DS to do still ... Flashing a PSP-1000 was way easier back in the days :yaypsp:

Just wanted to recommend some imstructions of mine that worked every single time so far (12 out of 12, both o3ds and n3ds). :)

0.2b Downgrading to 9.2.0

0.2b.0 I do NOT guarantee that this works. Continue at your own risk. Follow these steps very precisely and focused. Most important: Stay calm. Almost 100% of all downgrade bricks are made by stupid mistakes. If you just follow these steps exactly, you will most likely (according to reports) not run into any serious issue; I cannot guarantee anything though. :)
0.2b.1 Update your system to 10.3.0 using the system settings.
0.2b.2 Format your system using the system settings. (You will lose apps, DLCs, games and everything, but according to all reports, you will be able to regain them after the download process by relinking your NNID afterwards.)
0.2b.3 Turn off your 3DS and remove the (micro)SD card.
0.2b.4 Get the 3DS CFW Kit, MiniTool Partition Wizard , TeraCopy , as well as several files you will get from the "Downgrade Files" link at the usual place, then check the MD5 hash of the 9.2.0-20X(Full) ZIP file via this site.
0.2b.5 Put your (micro)SD card into your computer and make a backup of its content.
0.2b.6 Delete everything on your (micro)SD card, then install and launch Minitool Partition Wizard.
0.2b.7 Right-click on your (micro)SD and select "Wipe" to delete the partition(s) on your (micro)SD.
0.2b.8 Right-click on "Unallocated" in your (micro)SD card and select "Create" to create a new partition.
0.2b.9 Select "Primary" where you see "Logical", and then set "Format" to "FAT32".
0.2b.10 In the top-left, click on "Apply" to finish.
0.2b.11 Close the Partition Wizard, then install and launch TeraCopy.
02b.12 Use TeraCopy to copy the updates folder you have extracted from the 9.2.0-20X(Full) ZIP file onto your (micro)SD, as well as the boot.3dsx from the 3DS CFW Kit (which is the same as the one you can find in smealum's starter kit) and the 3ds folder you have made according to the instructions on the place where you got all the files. (I think you just need to copy the files normally and TeraCopy will automatically become active.)
0.2b.13 Put your (micro)SD card back into your 3DS, follow the instructions on screen, then change the theme, then change it back to default.
0.2b.14 Launch browserhax (See the instructions around the QR code below).
0.2b.15 Once in the Homebrew Launcher, select menuhax_manager, then choose "Install".
0.2b.16 Exit the menuhax_manager, then turn off your system without exiting the HBL, then turn it back on and delete the internet connection settings. Go back to the home menu and turn off your system.
0.2b.17 So far so good! You will need to repeat this process until sysUpdater loads correctly. Turn on your 3DS and hold [L] to get into the Homebrew Launcher, then select Downgrade by pressing (Y) ONCE, and after you did that, DO NOTHING ANYMORE. If it succeeds, congratulations, you are on 9.2.0 now! :)
Thx to @Dribblejam and @shadowofdarkness

trying to do my n3ds now, not fun at all... my 2ds went through in like 3-4 tries :)

since this is probably going to take a while i have a small tip, use menuhax and set it to run on start up without pressing any buttons. every little thing less you have to do helps!

i've had times when sysupdater launches but the text is messed up, in these cases i always reset cause i'm a scaredy cat... did it matter?

edit: woot! it just went through, happy days :)

Yea, but with a fresh formatted system there shouldn't be any updates I think... Or does Nintendo install the updates to the cartridge?

I've played ssb on 9.2.0 before...
idk man. All i know is that the latest update only works on firmware 9.3 and up.
