Seems to work fine under Wine. Thanks for the convenient tool.

EDIT: Well, it doesn't seem to be compatible with 10.3 unless I did something wrong or it doesn't like FBI. Oh well, CHMM2 still works fine if I can't get it working.

EDIT2: It worked with BigBlueMenu. That's the first time I've ran into something that wouldn't install with FBI but would with something else. Oh well, it's working great now.

How do I create a theme with no sound ? I don't want the music in the background, but withouth the ogg file, the program keeps giving me error.

I have a problem. if i want to start the programm i get the error:
failed to create empty document.

It deletes all my custom ones. I haven't tried reinstalling the official ones I bought a while back, haven't had much drive to extract them.
Weird, for me it deletes most of them but still leaves some custom ones. This makes no sense.

Well, it is Nintendo. Even when trying to slap homebrew users, they still bork it up sometimes. Oh well, either way I'd recommend people keep their themes CIA backed up on their SD card if they use the eShop and want to have their themes installed to the theme menu.

For some reason, when I install the .cia it excludes the the last two themes of the list (first two if I use the Z-A arrangement).
Why is that?
I'm not complaining since I don't use or change themes a lot but I'd like to know anyways. I'd rather make it not happen instead of wishing making it not happen.

Despite that, it's an excellent application, thanks for your hard work.
send me a screenshot of Howling Theme Tool showing the preview of these themes. Also, list me the files inside each theme folder, please.

Use YATA+ and disable BGM music.
Then delete te bcstm and ogg files from the folder.

there aren't a Wine like-thing for mac? õ3o Maybe I'm mistaking something ...
There is a port of WINE for Mac, look up WINEBottler. I don't know if it's been maintained or anything, though. I've never used it, I only know about it due to it being mentioned here and there over on WINEhq.

I am getting error 009-4998 while I am trying to acces to the theme shop. What happens?
delete your custom themes and try again.

Weird, for me it deletes most of them but still leaves some custom ones. This makes no sense.
because the themes are injected over official ones.
you have buy the official ones we use to inject these files, example:
Official Theme #1 it's jumping mario and you own it.
You have created a pack and "A random custom theme" it's in placeholder 1.
All the themes you have will be delete except the #1.

Good to know!

I'm confused.

I downloaded some custom themes initially and made a cia and installed. All went fine and they appeared in my emunand. Afterwards I decided to delete them and start again, only deciding to use a few this time. I also replaced the bgm.ogg with my own bgm.ogg (maybe this is the issue?) and made a new cia with the ones I chose again.

Installed fine, but when I went to the theme menu, only the previous themes that I had deleted (and made sure were deleted after a restart) were there, and none of the new ones with my replaced music.

I tried deleting everything and re extracting a fresh copy of the application and trying again, only to run into the same issue. I don't understand how this is happening? Are the old themes not being deleted off the 3DS properly, or is it something to do with the Howling theme tool's temp directory or something? How can I access the temp directory?

Please help.

To change the background music you must change the bgm.bcstr (the file loaded in the 3DS itself) and the bgm.ogg (the preview)

Try deleting the theme file with BBM (HMMP, HMME or HMMJ) (it's the first one down Browser for US / EU / JP)
Choose simple red and blue as shuffle themes.
Then install the package again.

Yes
or is it something to do with the Howling theme tool's temp directory or something?
It is always blanked after creating a theme package.
How can I access the temp directory?
C:\HowlingTemps\HTT
