Have you been able to successfully downgrade your 3DS/2DS?

So is the Julian SysUpdater fairly safe for N3DS, or is a safer build pending?

I've successfully downgraded my O3DS without a hitch, but I'm nervous to try with my N3DS.

Has anyone figured out how to fix the constant soft-bricking?

I sure hope someone can figure this out. I have no idea why I have no problem booting sysupdater, but why in the heck has every downgrade been a soft brick. The update cia's check out fine, I even downloaded the firmware again, and thost MD5 and sha are correct, yet it's always a soft brick....

I have a feeling I should try Ironhax, but I'm doing the fresh SD install method and there's no ironfall on that SD. So far Menuhax is all I can use, and it's working great, just the downgrade ends up in a soft brick....

How did you use menuhax when you sAy you only had sysupdater and ft tony on your memory card?
Those were the only homebrew apps, not the only data period. I had installed Menuhax before I cleared things off the card, and the Homebrew Loader boot.3dsx was still on the card. I didn't have the Menuhax Manager on there anymore, but it's not required to run the actual hack after it's installed.

Yup, sounds exactly like my issue. Everything in theory should be fine, the downgrade goes, and it results in a soft-brick every time. Switching entry points doesn't help.

Just downgraded after several tries with different methods. IronHax didn't worked but then MenuHax did it for me ;).

Hey guys, I successfully downgraded my 2DS to 9.2, but I had to format my SD card otherwise my console would not boot.
But now I'm unable to install ninjhax. I Tried with a Cubic Ninja (Sky3DS), but the game crashes when I try to scan the QR code. Tried with browserhax, but nothing happens.
What should I do?

Was ninjhax on your 2DS before you downgraded? If it was, you need to press L + R + X + Y altogether to delete your saves. Then try installing it again.

Oh, forgot to mention, I already tried that (multiple times).
Ok, somehow, someway it fixed itself. Thanks for the reply :3.

I downgraded my Japanese new3ds small edition, did indeed delete the CA00 CIA and used the 9.2 downgrade from that good ol' 3ds ice-o site. It downgraded to 9.1.0-20J. Not a problem but worth noting?

9.2 has the most support for exploits. That is a problem.

I'm trying to downgrade my old 3DS to 9.2. I've followed all the instructions and have gotten as far as the SysUpdater 0.4.2b screen where I am asked to either update, downgrade, or exit. Since I'm using cia I hit the Home button, but nothing seems to happen. I've tried it at least ten times. I end up having to power the 3DS off and go through the whole process again.

I can't tell if the system is actually doing anything or not since there is no confirmation or output of any kind after I hit the Home button. Any advice besides to keep trying?

Why are you hitting the home menu??? just press Y and wait for some time. If the screen freezes before displaying any information, just restart.

Repeat until profit.

If you can use the .cia version then why do you need to downgrade? O.o

The info on the screen says to hit Home if using cia - is that wrong?

I thought cia was referring to the files, guess not - either way, hitting Y doesn't seem to do anything either.

I'm on 10.3.0-28 and using the browser hack.

Hey guys. I have a N3DS that's currently on 9.4. Prior to upgrading to 9.4, I used GW Ultra to save my 9.2 firmware onto the internal USB. Is there any benefit to downgrade to that FW or just use the whatever generic FW on the front page?

Thanks!

Well I read that going through another Homebrew Launcher entry point may help in the downgrade process, so I installed MenuHax. Still getting the same result - I get to the SysUpdater screen and then nothing happens when I hit Y.
