You can legally dump your own legit cia files to use.
Some people like the option to install legit cia files without the risk of extensive writing to nand as in a downgrade.

But I do think the title and OP should be edited to reflect the better option of downgrading.

You can own more than one 3ds unit.

edit:I mean if you were dumping them for yourself, then you obviously are most likely doing that with the intention of installing them to a different 3ds unit.
One might already have kernel access, and the other you might want to just transfer legit cia over on.

You can't because theres no legit cia of Stella Glow to use.

I don't even think it's worth to downgrade as people are still bricking their devices when installing a cfw to even use cia files :/

They randomly started hitting options in the submenus of rx tools though, and then forced a shutdown midtask.
I mean this tool you are using here is FBI, I wouldn't exactly recommend randomly hitting options in it either as it can attempt to uninstall system titles from nand.

I'm not sure if it can actually uninstall or corrupt anything with this weird 10.3 fbi release but my point stands, that was user error.

Of course, that was never in question. There's much more room for user error in the downgrade process.
The brick chances are quite minimal if you exercise caution and downgrade properly.
I'd say it's close to a 99% reported success rate judging by the spreadsheets floating around.

I was talking about going through all the steps to get a cfw working on 9.2, not downgrading. People are have more trouble with getting a cfw to work with 9.2 then downgrading.

well I downgrades two times on my 2Ds and failed to get a cfw on it, first time rxtools launched into a black screen when I followed the exact steps needed to get a cfw on it. Second time I couldn't even get the browserhax to work at all.

User error. Downgrading and CFW is not for everyone.
Of course it's risky when you don't know what you're doing and are merely following steps from a tutorial.

But there's really little to no risk IF you understand what you are doing AND execute on it properly.

You do open up a world of room for user error though. Don't fumble stupidly and you're safe.

yea,getting cfw on this system isn't exactly noob proof like it should be. Should be some sort of program that does it for you after you unlink your nands.

Maybe you didn't get the metaphor.

You can still brick your console once you have CFW all setup.
I'd worry even more easily if it's all setup for you, since you haven't done much reading you wouldn't know what's okay and not okay to do.
There'd be nothing to stop you from experimenting and uninstalling system nand titles, causing a brick.

It'd be better to teach them to drive first before giving them the keys. That way they are less likely to crash.

I'd say to make sure you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it before you do it, even if you are following a guide.

That's the best way to avoid bricking your system.

FFS everytime there is a thread the past couple of days about anything other than downgrading, there's always someone saying why don't you just downgrade. Regardless of weather there's a chance of brick or not, some just simply don't want to downgrade. Every single thread that has nothing to do with downgrading is turning into a full on discussion about downgrading.

Alright, got it at my 28th try this time.

For some reason, I was always getting stuck at the garbled done screen. Booted FTBRONY, exited and loaded FBI and it worked.

Now, I'll assume it will take like 45mins to install since FE is 1GB and MK7 is 800mb.

Next step is to downgrade.

Will wait until the process is more refined, as I can't risk a brick.

You must have a cheap SD card, because my install times ranged from 10 minutes to 20 minutes (MH4)

Is there a fix for ACHHD I updated it from the Eshop and I get a power off console error screen?
