Hacking Emunand on a another fresh old 3ds?

Can i swap an sd card from an old 3ds cfw emunand with all the stuff to a fresh old 3ds emunand?
what i mean is just change the sd card from one to the other, will all the stuff appear on the fresh one and work?

or do i need to do that thing of extracting emunand and inject it to the fresh sd card?

Everything on the sd card of any relevance is encrypted and tied to the source system, so if you just swap the SD card, the new system won't be able to open the data. (From what i understand of how the 3ds file system works, anyway)

What I, personally, would like to know (and may try at some point) is if you create an Emunand backup then do a System Transfer...can you then restore the Emunand to the source system and basically have a system clone?
