Okay, that is honestly reassuring. I'll keep restarting it for like 2 hours.

format your 3DS before downgrading, that seems to ensure a succesfull downgrade always ( it should, i haven't seen of anyone whose downgrade didn't work after formatting )

So, should I also delete everything on my SD card? Do I have to re-install the HBL. Or can I take out my SD card when formatting?

you will have to re-install HBL but formatting doesn't delete anything on your SD card

but you should format your SD card too and leave only the CIA files and HBL with sysUpdater

i mean just to be sure you don't want sysUpdater crashing and having a hardbricked 3DS

i don't know i haven't tried this out, my 3DS got softbricked and my crappy internet just doesn't let me update, i've already been trying since two days

Wait, so you're telling everybody that formatting before downgrading makes it work more often, and you can't test this out yourself? If this were true, everybody would be downgraded successfully without any bricks at all on their first try.

Alright first off you completely missed the point of my comment. Nowhere did I say he was an ass/did not have a life. OP took the time to write out a fairly detailed tutorial on how to downgrade and I'm only wondering why he hasn't provided people with a more stable build of sysupdater. So hold your horses.

When I press Y the bottom screen flashes red and I am brought back to my list of homebrew apps. Have I done something wrong?

i said it because i've been following this thread pretty closely ( have lots of spare time lmao ) and there was not a single person whose downgrade didn't succeed after formatting their 3DS ( talking about O3DS herE )

hehe, well, I'm just being funny, but yer setting expectations when none are warranted. I didn't miss your point I assure you.

Actually you give me a great idea. Why don't you update the tutorial in a post in this thread, or in a new thread. That would be super helpful and would but the real asses like me in our place.

you either did something wrong, or it's just the uncertainty of the process. The only advice we can give is to follow the instructions and then try lots of times. Some people have spend upwards of 6 hours trying and rebooting and then it suddenly works, some people get it the first time.

Your problem might be an entry point issue so I'd check there.

I kept doing it and now the top screen is black an the bottom is red. Is this supposed to happen?

the red screen is likely part of the hax execution. If it's hanging there the hax isn't completing or it's failing to load the target file. I suspect, like I said, that you have a problem with your hax execution and are likely not following the instructions correctly. It's hard for me to say for sure.

anyone unable to find cia files put updates on the root not inside any files and delete all wifi connections on your 3ds works for me

I've done everything correctly. 100% sure.

I'm using Ninjhax 2.5. Should I try 00t3d?

try menuhax. I am presuming you never get a homebrew menu to show up right and therefore can't even execute sysupdater right? Or do you get that far.

I got a problem: when I open Homebrew Launcher from menuhax and then I open sysUpdater, the screen goes black. I tried to reboot the 3DS (Old) but nothing happened. I trying to download Ironfall, but an error occurs. What can be happening?

Edit: Okay, I fixed the problem ^^
